What you'll do
- Conduct detailed inspections of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal specifications.
- Develop and implement inspection protocols and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify potential quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including documentation of non-conformities and corrective actions taken.
- Utilize various inspection tools and techniques, such as visual inspections, measurements, and testing equipment, to assess product quality.
- Participate in root cause analysis for quality-related issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on quality assurance practices and inspection techniques.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing inspection findings and present them to management and stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to quality assurance and inspection.
- Assist in the development of quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Engage in regular audits of production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Foster a culture of quality within the organization by promoting awareness and understanding of quality principles among staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection or assurance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies, such as ISO, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and testing machines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and standards.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey inspection results and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Familiarity with quality management software and data analysis tools is a plus.
Nice to have
- Certification in quality inspection or assurance, such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or similar credentials.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to the industry, such as FDA or OSHA standards.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a quality assurance team.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Skills & tools
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and documentation management software.
- Familiarity with CAD software for reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and workshops on quality assurance practices.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
