What you'll do

• Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry standards.
• Review and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents to verify adherence during construction.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address any discrepancies or issues that arise during the construction process.
• Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports outlining compliance or non-compliance with project specifications.
• Monitor the quality of materials used in construction and ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in project meetings to provide updates on inspection findings and discuss any potential impacts on project timelines.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures to enhance project outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support to construction teams to promote best practices in safety and quality assurance.
• Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in civil inspection or a related role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including local building codes and OSHA regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey inspection findings and collaborate with team members.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and recommend solutions promptly.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and software for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.

Nice to have

• Certification as a Civil Inspector or related professional certification (e.g., ICC, NICET).
• Experience with specific construction types such as residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and green construction standards.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse teams and clients.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections and accurate reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with construction safety practices and risk management strategies.
