Senior Product Manager

About the role

Adyen is a leading global financial technology platform that provides payment solutions for prominent clients such as Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager to take charge of our global Banking Networks, focusing on establishing direct connections to banking infrastructures around the world, excluding North America. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the strategy and executing integrations with various clearing houses, payment systems, and banking partners to enhance our financial offerings.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term strategy for global banking connectivity to enhance our service offerings.
• Convert regulatory requirements and market infrastructure opportunities into actionable product roadmaps that align with business goals.
• Oversee the complete product lifecycle for banking network integrations, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
• Serve as the primary authority on banking networks within the organization, providing expertise and direction.
• Offer functional leadership and mentorship to a team of two product managers, fostering their growth and development.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, compliance, risk management, sales, and operations teams to ensure that product capabilities meet customer expectations.
• Enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of our core banking infrastructure to support growing demands.
• Engage with customers and partners directly to collect feedback, identify pain points, and drive improvements in our offerings.
• Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform product decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
• Prepare and present product updates and strategic initiatives to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure that all product initiatives comply with relevant regulations and standards in the financial industry.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in product management or a related field within the fintech or financial services sector.
• Demonstrated success in launching and scaling transactional banking products in a competitive environment.
• Extensive knowledge of at least one major market infrastructure, such as real-time payment systems, clearing houses, or banking schemes.
• Proven ability to independently manage cross-functional projects in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.
• Strong analytical capabilities to break down complex and ambiguous challenges into clear, actionable solutions.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective technical discussions with engineering teams and strategic alignment with business stakeholders.
• Experience working in a global context, with an understanding of international banking regulations and practices.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with emerging financial technologies and trends, such as blockchain or digital currencies.
• Experience in user experience (UX) design principles and methodologies.
• Previous involvement in customer-facing roles or direct engagement with clients in a product capacity.
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile development environment.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in core banking systems and their functionalities.
• Understanding of clearing and settlement processes and flows.
• Experience with market infrastructure connectivity and its implications for product development.
• Familiarity with product lifecycle management tools and techniques.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
