About the role
Adyen is seeking a strategic leader to oversee our Enterprise Account Management sub-teams in the London office. This second-level management position bridges the gap between Team Leads and the Head of Account Management, focusing on operational execution and long-term portfolio growth. You will guide managers to support global merchants and digital disruptors while ensuring our UK market operations remain a benchmark for the EMEA region. In this capacity, you will own the commercial trajectory of our most strategic relationships, aligning internal resources with ambitious revenue targets. You will be responsible for translating the company vision into concrete plans that drive sustainable growth within your portfolio. Your leadership will directly influence the success of enterprise clients by removing barriers and fostering a culture of excellence. You will act as a critical link between the operational teams and the strategic direction set by senior leadership. This role is pivotal in maintaining Adyen's position as a market leader in the competitive UK payments landscape.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Orchestrate 12 to 18 month commercial targets and growth projections for the Enterprise portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Develop and implement coaching frameworks to mentor and upskill Team Leads and Senior Account Managers, enhancing their leadership capabilities and vertical expertise.
- Act as the primary escalation point for high-value merchant relationships, providing strategic guidance during complex contract renegotiations and critical interventions.
- Analyze and streamline internal workflows to improve account management efficiency, reduce friction, and strengthen segment health across the enterprise division.
- Champion the Adyen Formula by promoting standardized methodologies and coordinating cross-functional initiatives with Product, Tech, Sales, and Marketing departments.
- Identify market trends and translate high-level market visions into actionable milestones and mid-term strategies that secure long-term client loyalty.
- Monitor portfolio health through data-driven analysis, adjusting resource allocation to maximize revenue retention and expansion opportunities.
- Facilitate collaboration between internal stakeholders to resolve escalated issues swiftly and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
- Drive the optimization of account management processes, implementing best practices that enhance productivity and client outcomes.
- Lead by example in fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence within the Enterprise Management team.
- Evaluate the performance of direct reports, providing constructive feedback and career development guidance to nurture talent.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements relevant to enterprise client management in the UK.
- Partner with Finance to forecast revenue and manage the profitability of key enterprise accounts within the designated region.
- Represent the Enterprise Management function in company-wide meetings and strategic discussions impacting the UK market.
Requirements
- Possess 7 to 10 plus years of experience in senior commercial roles such as Business Development, Customer Success, or Account Management, with a proven track record of achieving significant results.
- Demonstrate a clear history of managing people managers or multi-level teams, showcasing your ability to lead through influence and strategic direction.
- Bring extensive operational knowledge of the UK enterprise, digital disruptor, or retail sectors, including a deep understanding of omnichannel infrastructure and payment ecosystems.
- Exhibit the ability to translate high-level market visions into actionable milestones and mid-term strategies that drive tangible business outcomes.
- Maintain full professional proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for engaging with C-level stakeholders.
- Show a strong commitment to operational excellence and a data-driven approach to managing complex client portfolios.
- Display resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and high stakes decisions are routine.
- Prove your capability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within a matrixed organization.
