This position is critical for ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards while also managing tax obligations effectively. What you'll do
- Lead the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring timely compliance with local and international tax laws.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and completed on schedule.
- Provide strategic financial insights to senior management, assisting in decision-making processes related to budgeting and forecasting.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and information is readily available.
- Monitor cash flow and financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Train and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data by implementing robust internal controls and conducting regular audits.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax regulations, adapting practices accordingly to maintain compliance.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, providing financial expertise to support various business initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards, as well as tax regulations.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Nice to have
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is an advantage.
- Familiarity with international tax regulations and transfer pricing.
- Knowledge of financial modeling and analysis techniques.
- Experience with financial audits and working with external auditors.
- Multilingual skills, particularly in Arabic and English, are beneficial.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to utilize financial modeling software for forecasting and budgeting purposes.
Practical notes
- This position is based in Cairo, Cairo, and may require occasional travel for audits or training purposes.
- The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience, with additional benefits provided by Acino.
