AccuWeather is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and relationship-oriented professional to serve as Manager, Government Affairs and Weather Enterprise Partnerships. This role owns the development and execution of strategies that ensure AccuWeather's expertise is central to public policy discussions impacting the weather sector. The hire will act as the primary bridge between AccuWeather and the U.S. Congress, federal agencies, and key scientific institutions. This position requires a proactive individual who can anticipate legislative trends and translate them into actionable insights for the company. Success in this role will directly influence how AccuWeather's voice is perceived in policy circles. The candidate will be a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and external partners. What you'll do

Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key Congressional members and their senior staff to position AccuWeather as a leading authority on weather policy.

Monitor the federal regulatory environment and emerging legislation to identify potential impacts on the weather enterprise and recommend timely policy responses.

Coordinate the development of comprehensive policy papers, testimony, and briefing documents for senior leadership and federal submissions.

Serve as the primary liaison to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), ensuring AccuWeather's capabilities and data contributions are recognized in federal initiatives.

Engage with the National Weather Service (NWS) and NASA to explore collaborative opportunities that enhance public weather safety and forecasting accuracy.

Act as the chief representative to the American Meteorological Society (AMS), integrating AccuWeather's expertise into committees, publications, and major conference sessions.

Lead efforts to build and maintain partnerships with other weather industry companies to advance collective interests and elevate the sector's influence.

Serve as the central point of contact for all industry trade associations, including the National Weather Association (NWA) and the American Weather and Climate Industry Association (AWCIA).

Develop and manage a legislative tracking and reporting system to provide leadership with clear, concise updates on policy developments.

Champion collaborative engagements with European counterparts through organizations like PRIMET to expand AccuWeather's global weather enterprise perspective.

Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with federal agencies such as FEMA to enhance emergency management readiness and response capabilities.

Represent AccuWeather at high-level stakeholder events, hearings, and briefings in Washington D.C. and other relevant venues.

Provide strategic counsel to internal teams on the policy implications of new products, services, and operational initiatives.

Ensure all external communications align with AccuWeather's core messaging and reflect the company's position as a trusted weather authority.

Requirements

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes within the United States government.

Possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degrees in meteorology, public policy, or a related field are highly desirable.

Have a proven track record of 5+ years in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, with a focus on science, technology, or weather-related issues.

Show exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical information for diverse audiences.

Exhibit strong relationship-building capabilities and the judgment to interact effectively with senior government officials and industry leaders.

Display a commitment to ethical conduct and the highest standards of integrity in all professional interactions.

Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Have experience working with or representing clients before federal agencies and Congressional offices.

Nice to have

Experience with international weather policy or engagement with global meteorological bodies.

Familiarity with the structure and operations of the National Weather Enterprise.
