The Contracts Specialist Opportunity at AccuWeather represents a critical support function within the Legal Services Production department, focused on the lifecycle management of commercial agreements. This position is responsible for the end-to-end administration of contract documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance from initial draft through final execution. The hire will own the preparation of specific standard agreement templates, including Daily, Warning, and SWS formats, transforming raw input into polished legal documents. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to electronic document generation, where you will implement necessary edits, apply rigorous formatting standards, and construct complete files. You will play a key role in evaluating contract durations, determining appropriate terms, and securing the necessary sign-off from management within the Legal Services Production unit. Furthermore, the position demands close collaboration with the Manager of Legal Service Production to ensure all workflows are executed efficiently and to the highest standard of quality. The specialist acts as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders, facilitating smooth transactions and clear communication regarding contract status and requirements. This role is integral to supporting the commercial operations that allow AccuWeather to serve its vast network of media, business, and government clients effectively.

What you'll do
- Prepare standard agreement types including Daily, Warning, and SWS formats using electronic generation methods.
- Implement required edits and precise formatting to construct full contract documents that support product managers and internal legal teams.
- Develop evaluations for contract durations that necessitate sign-off from Management level personnel within Legal Services Production.
- Configure new client entries within the electronic management system to ensure accurate record-keeping and billing.
- Complete all necessary setup and billing documentation for diverse client categories, maintaining data integrity throughout the process.
- Log every new contract into the electronic tracking system to maintain a comprehensive and auditable record.
- Maintain and generate multiple lists and reports covering categories such as Legal, Newspaper, Radio, and associated start and end dates.
- Process cancellation letters and manage related partner updates to reflect changes in contractual status accurately.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, to perform daily tasks with exceptional proficiency.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and resolve contract-related inquiries.
- Leverage attention to detail to ensure all contract documentation is error-free and complies with internal standards.
- Apply previous exposure to Microsoft Dynamics to manage client configurations and billing setups efficiently.
- Support operational needs by completing additional tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the Legal Services Production team.
- Ensure consistent and predictable attendance to meet the full-time requirements of the position and support team objectives.
- Contribute to the maintenance of high standards of accuracy and efficiency in contract administration processes.
Requirements
- Successfully completed high school or possession of an equivalent qualification such as a general education development certificate.
- Preferred candidates hold an Associate degree in administrative or business disciplines.
- Requires one to three years of relevant practical experience or a balanced combination of academic study and professional background.
- Exceptional proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook is mandatory for success in this role.
- Demonstrated attention to detail is essential to manage complex contract documentation and ensure accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are fundamental for effective collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Previous exposure to Microsoft Dynamics is considered advantageous for performing configuration and billing tasks.
