About the role
AccuWeather is seeking a Manager of Learning & Development to join its growing HR team. This role leads the company's learning and development strategy and drives training and talent management initiatives, including individual growth and development planning, performance management, succession planning, and leadership development. The Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees alike, fostering a culture of continuous growth and performance excellence. The position requires a strategic partner who can align learning initiatives with organizational objectives while navigating a dynamic, data-driven environment. This role is responsible for ensuring that learning programs are not only effective but also integrated into the daily workflows of the business. - Architect the enterprise learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with current and future business priorities.

- Conduct in-depth assessments of organization-wide training needs and deliver programs that elevate employee skills and performance.

- Analyze and evaluate training effectiveness, then iterate and adjust programs based on participant feedback, outcomes, and evolving business needs.
- Partner with HR business partners and senior leaders to identify high-potential talent and design targeted leadership interventions.
- Facilitate performance management systems that drive accountability, clarity, and ongoing employee growth.
- Utilize data and analytics to evaluate talent initiatives, identify gaps, and improve overall organizational effectiveness.
- Leverage AI tools and platforms to enhance productivity, streamline HR workflows, and support data-driven decisions related to learning initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure learning solutions support key business transformations and change efforts.
- Manage the succession planning process for critical roles, ensuring a robust pipeline of prepared internal candidates.
- Drive employee engagement and retention through targeted talent strategies and thoughtful career development opportunities.
- Oversee the administration of learning technologies and platforms to ensure scalability and ease of use.
- Communicate program results and value to leadership, demonstrating the impact of learning on business outcomes.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Bring 5-8+ years of progressive HR experience with a demonstrated focus on learning & development and talent management.
- Show a proven track record of designing and implementing L&D strategies and succession planning frameworks that deliver measurable results.
- Demonstrate experience facilitating leadership development programs and managing complex performance management cycles.
- Exhibit proficiency with HRIS systems, LMS platforms, and talent analytics tools to drive insights and decision-making.
- Possess excellent facilitation, coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills to influence at all levels.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive employee and organizational information with discretion.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities and managing competing deadlines with professionalism.

Practical notes
- This is a full-time position based in State College, Pennsylvania.
- Travel requirements are not anticipated to exceed 10% of time for role-related meetings, conferences, or cross-site collaboration.
