What you'll do

• Lead the design systems initiatives, ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy across multiple teams.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for design systems, including guidelines, components, and best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to create a seamless user experience that adheres to design principles.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights that inform design decisions and system improvements.
• Advocate for design consistency and quality across all products, ensuring that design systems are effectively utilized.
• Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation within the design team.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the design systems.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in design, with a focus on design systems or related fields.
• Proven experience leading design projects from concept to execution, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite, along with a solid understanding of front-end development technologies.
• Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and strategies to diverse audiences.
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing, with a data-driven approach to design decisions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership skills with a passion for mentoring and developing talent within the design team.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with design systems in the context of startups or venture capital environments.
