What you'll do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions that power Zo's voice AI platform.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and commercial teams to define clear technical strategies, set priorities, and develop detailed roadmaps aligned with company goals.
- Foster a positive engineering culture by creating opportunities for career growth, organizing cross-team knowledge sharing, and promoting diversity and inclusion within the engineering department.

- Lead efforts to integrate generative AI tools into workflows to boost productivity, automate routine tasks, and enhance the platform's intelligence.
- Oversee the development and deployment of microservices architecture on AWS, ensuring best practices in cloud infrastructure, security, and scalability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer use cases, gather feedback, and translate these insights into technical requirements and solutions.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices in coding, testing, and deployment, and encouraging innovation within the team.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical debt to ensure timely releases and maintain high standards of quality.
- Advocate for the adoption of new tools, frameworks, and technologies that can improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders, influencing product development and strategic decisions.
- Ensure the team adheres to security standards and compliance requirements, especially considering the healthcare context.
- Support onboarding and training of new engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to optimize user experience.
Requirements
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, action-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Extensive experience developing consumer-facing AI products, with a particular emphasis on voice AI technologies.
- Proven track record of delivering multiple features or products to external users, whether as an individual contributor or as a manager.
- Deep understanding of software development practices, including agile methodologies, code reviews, testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Strong familiarity with microservices architecture, cloud computing, and AWS infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in frontend technologies such as React and JavaScript, along with backend programming in C# and Python.
- Experience integrating generative AI tools into workflows to enhance productivity and innovation.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders and building consensus among engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to understand complex customer use cases and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Demonstrated humility, respect, and a collaborative approach to leadership and teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in healthcare or with healthcare-related data is a plus but not mandatory.
