Senior Product Manager
Job description
About the role
The work is challenging and purpose-driven, supporting utility prices, the energy transition, and grid reliability. You will own the strategic roadmap and execution for critical products that sit at the intersection of market data and decision support. This role requires you to translate complex regulatory and market dynamics into clear product requirements and priorities. You will gather direct customer feedback and synthesize it into actionable product specifications that drive tangible commercial outcomes. Much of your day will involve analysis, writing, and decision-making under conditions of uncertainty inherent in energy markets. You will collaborate across engineering, design, and business teams to ship solutions that solve real-world problems for energy professionals. Ultimately, you will be judged by the outcomes your team delivers into the market and the quality of the products they ship.

Yes Energy is an equal opportunity employer and committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Typical interview steps
Product interviews often include a product sense round, an analytical round, and a behavioral round. Candidates may be asked to design a feature, prioritize a backlog, or estimate a metric. Some loops include a case exercise. Strong candidates show structured thinking and customer empathy. Interviewers want to see how you prioritize when everything matters. Walking through your decision criteria out loud is a strong habit in product interviews.
Good to know
The role works with energy market data from ISOs and public sources such as EIA and NWS.
The position contributes to decisions that affect how energy market participants conduct trading and investment activities.
Professional development is supported and expected as part of everyday and yearly growth.
Questions to ask
Useful questions for the interview: what a typical week looks like, how work is assigned, what tools the team uses, and how feedback works. Asking how the role has changed recently and what the team wishes it had known when joining is also reasonable. Questions about the manager's priorities are especially valued.
Career growth
Product careers usually move from associate to product manager, then to senior, group, or director levels. Some people specialize in growth, platform, or enterprise products. Others move into general management. Success depends on shipped outcomes rather than shipped output. Product careers often reward generalists early and specialists later. Experience shipping measurable outcomes is the strongest signal for promotion.
