About the role

Bamboohr is hiring a Senior Product Designer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves shaping the visual and interactive experience of their communication platform products for enterprise customers. The designer will work closely with product managers and engineering teams to deliver intuitive, polished user interfaces that meet high standards. They will be responsible for translating complex user needs and business goals into clear, elegant design solutions across web and mobile experiences.

What you'll do

Own the end-to-end design process for product features from discovery through delivery

Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for user interfaces

Conduct thorough user research and usability testing to inform design decisions

Partner with cross-functional teams of developers and product managers on design

Maintain and evolve the design system to ensure consistency across products

Prepare and present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and leadership

Refine and iterate on designs based on feedback and analytical data

Define interaction patterns and visual standards for the product experience

Provide mentorship to junior designers and contribute to team knowledge sharing

Balance business objectives with user needs in every design decision made

Attend and contribute to design reviews and critique sessions with peers

Translate technical and design constraints into practical solutions for the team

Drive design innovation by exploring new patterns and approaches for the product

Ensure design decisions align with the overall product vision and strategy

Document design rationale and decisions to maintain transparency with the team

Collaborate with user research teams to validate assumptions and test hypotheses

Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies in the field

Requirements

Proven experience as a product designer with a strong portfolio of shipped digital products

Familiarity with user-centered design principles and methodologies for building effective digital products

Ability to work independently and manage multiple design priorities simultaneously under tight deadlines

Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting and defending design choices to teams

Experience collaborating with engineering teams throughout the implementation and product development lifecycle

Understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles for both web and mobile platforms

Proficiency in standard design and prototyping tools commonly used in the product design industry

Availability for contract role engagement with flexibility on project timelines and delivery expectations

A degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field is preferred

Experience presenting design work to both technical and non-technical audiences

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality design work

Nice to have

Experience in the communications or unified communications industry and related technology sectors

Background in B2B SaaS product design with enterprise-level customers and complex business workflows

Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices for building accessible digital products

Familiarity with agile development workflows and sprint-based delivery cycles in cross-functional product teams

Prior experience designing for real-time communication and collaboration platforms is a plus

Exposure to design operations and metrics-driven design processes in product teams

Skills & tools

Proficiency in Figma or similar interface design applications for creating digital experiences

Experience with prototyping tools such as Principle or ProtoPie for interactive designs

Understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for design implementation

Ability to create interactive prototypes for user testing and stakeholder presentations

Familiarity with design systems and component libraries for consistent product experiences

Skills in user research methods and data-driven design to inform decisions

Experience with version control systems and design handoff processes for developers

Knowledge of accessibility guidelines such as WCAG for inclusive design practices
