What you'll do

• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and network equipment to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support software deployments and system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary security measures to protect against threats.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations within the IT infrastructure.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in on-call support rotation to address urgent issues outside of regular business hours.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on new systems and technologies to enhance overall technical proficiency within the organization.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance your skills and contribute to the growth of the IT team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in system administration or a related field.
• Proficient in managing Windows and Linux server environments, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with cloud services and platforms, particularly AWS or Azure, is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with technical and non-technical staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of database management systems, including MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices for IT service management.
• Previous experience in a VoIP environment or knowledge of Bamboohr products is a significant advantage.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices to enhance system security.
