Spanish (Spain) Quality Control Lead
Job description
Spanish (Spain) Quality Control Lead at Welo Global.
About the role
We are searching for a Spanish (Spain) Quality Control Lead to define language quality for a major AI training initiative. This position is responsible for setting and enforcing quality standards for the Spanish (Spain) locale. The role requires strategic oversight, direct coaching, and clear communication across distributed teams. You will ensure that outputs meet high linguistic and cultural expectations while supporting the scalability of the program. This is a fixed-term contract role based in Spain with remote flexibility. The position works approximately 30-40 hours per week. The compensation for this role is 36000 euros per year. Start dates are immediate.
Key responsibilities include designing calibration sessions that align reviewers on tone, style, and expectations for Spanish (Spain) tasks. You will audit outputs to identify guideline drift and deliver structured coaching that improves reviewer accuracy. Acting as the primary quality owner for the locale, you will resolve complex issues and escalate when necessary. You will design evaluation frameworks that highlight edge cases in AI training scenarios. Tracking quality metrics over time will help you spot risks and adjust reviewer guidance proactively. You will also oversee the onboarding of new Quality Control Reviewers with structured practice plans that accelerate productivity. Your insights will shape global processes by feeding Spanish (Spain) perspectives into documentation and workflows. Collaboration with engineering and product teams will refine task designs to better support language quality.
To succeed in this role, you need native-level C2 Spanish proficiency for Spain and professional written and spoken English. You must bring a minimum of two years of experience in AI training, data annotation, or linguistic quality roles. You must also have at least one year leading reviewers, annotators, or quality teams with demonstrable evidence of this experience. A deep understanding of grammar, fluency, tone, register, and cultural nuances for Spanish Spain audiences is essential. You should be able to craft evidence-based feedback and coach others to improve consistently. Strong analytical skills will help you evaluate complex tasks where answers are not always clear. Organized time management and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment are required. A degree in Linguistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or another analytical field is preferred. Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), RLHF, AI data annotation, prompt evaluation, or NLP projects is a plus. Familiarity with annotation platforms and quality management processes for AI datasets is also valued.
This role offers the chance to lead quality strategy in a current AI program. You will help ensure the highest standards for Spanish (Spain) language data while contributing to the future of AI communication. If you are ready to take ownership, coach teams, and drive quality excellence, join us and shape what responsible AI training data looks like for Spanish (Spain).
