Position Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Professional Engineer/Project Manager to join our Community Design Team within our Orlando office. This role is centered on municipal infrastructure and public works, requiring a candidate with specific expertise and a proactive approach. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing complex projects from initial client contact through to final delivery. This position demands a balance of precise technical work and adherence to strict schedules. Success in this role requires seamless collaboration across both remote and office-based environments. Employment is full-time. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule will be available after the initial 30-day employment period.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $130,000.00 to $160,000.00. Our company provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both professional and personal well-being. Key Responsibilities

This role involves owning municipal projects from the initial conversation through final delivery. You will be responsible for translating client goals into clear project scopes for community infrastructure work. The position requires designing structural and water systems solutions with a strict focus on code compliance and detailed calculation records. You will coordinate review cycles with engineering partners to ensure drawings, specifications, and client feedback are aligned efficiently.

A core duty is the preparation of construction documents. These documents must be clear and unambiguous, allowing field teams to execute public works implementation without confusion. You will finalize design packages to meet submission standards and support permitting authority review timelines. Collaboration with sustainability and operations groups is essential to ensure the long-term performance and maintenance practicality of designs. You will document all decisions in clear language so that municipal clients and future staff understand the reasoning behind every choice. The role also involves guiding junior team members through technical tasks while preserving consistent quality across multiple project streams.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in civil and/or environmental engineering. Active professional engineering licensure for municipal infrastructure work is mandatory within your practice region. A minimum of five years of hands-on design experience on public works projects is necessary for success in this position. Strong technical writing skills are essential for producing specifications and reports that are easily understood by all stakeholders.

Exceptional organizational abilities are required to manage multiple design tracks while meeting deadlines and regulatory expectations. Effective verbal communication skills are necessary for presenting complex ideas to clients and colleagues during busy project meetings. Self-direction is crucial for managing tasks independently while remaining responsive to team dependencies and shifting priorities.
