Electrical Substation Engineer
Job description
About the role
You will lead the conceptual and detailed design of electrical substation projects for our ICE team, ensuring solutions meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. You will own the development of design deliverables, including one-line diagrams, protection schemes, and equipment specifications for a variety of voltage classes. You will coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate project requirements into actionable engineering plans and schedules. You will perform load flow, short circuit, and coordination studies to validate system performance and reliability. You will mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, design reviews, and constructive feedback to elevate team capabilities. You will manage project documentation, ensuring designs are accurate, complete, and aligned with client expectations and internal quality standards. You will apply innovative engineering practices to optimize substation layouts, reduce costs, and improve constructability. You will serve as the primary technical contact for design reviews, client meetings, and regulatory interactions related to substation projects.
