What you'll do

• Conduct comprehensive research on emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, providing insights that will inform our security strategies.
• Analyze malware samples and investigate their behavior to understand attack vectors and potential impacts on systems.
• Collaborate with the security team to develop and test security tools and frameworks that can be utilized in threat detection and prevention.
• Assist in the creation of detailed reports and documentation that summarize research findings and recommendations for stakeholders.
• Participate in security assessments and penetration testing exercises to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
• Monitor industry trends and news to stay updated on the latest security threats and best practices.
• Engage in code reviews and contribute to the development of secure coding practices within the organization.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, with a strong academic record.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, and an understanding of software development principles.
• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including network security, cryptography, and threat modeling.
• Experience with security tools and technologies, such as intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically about security challenges and solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or project experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Familiarity with operating systems, particularly Linux and Windows, and their security configurations.
• Understanding of web application security and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top Ten).
• Participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions or similar security challenges.
