What you'll do
- Monitor security alerts and incidents using advanced security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices across the organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications, and work with development teams to remediate identified issues.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response plans, security policies, and procedures to ensure clarity and compliance.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees to promote a culture of security within the organization.
- Stay informed about the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and share insights with the team to enhance our security strategies.
- Assist in the preparation for and response to audits and assessments by external parties, ensuring that all security measures are adequately documented and implemented.
- Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization can effectively respond to incidents.
- Work closely with third-party vendors to assess their security practices and ensure they meet our security requirements.
- Analyze security logs and reports to identify patterns and trends that may indicate potential security risks or vulnerabilities.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the security operations team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security operations or a similar role, with a strong understanding of security frameworks and best practices.
- Proficiency in using SIEM tools, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other security monitoring technologies.
- Solid knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security appliances, as well as experience with endpoint security solutions.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR, and the ability to implement security controls to meet these requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ would be advantageous.
- Experience with cloud security practices and technologies, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
- Knowledge of incident response methodologies and experience in leading incident response efforts.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in security monitoring and incident response tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques, such as Nessus, Qualys, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and secure network architecture.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their security configurations.

- The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may need to be on-call for incident response outside of regular business hours.
