Key facts
What you'll do
- Architect and build scalable data pipelines that ingest, process, and deliver high volumes of structured and unstructured data.
- Develop and maintain core data services and APIs to ensure reliable and secure access to information across the organization.
- Implement monitoring and alerting frameworks to guarantee the health, performance, and integrity of production data systems.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models.
- Optimize query performance and data storage strategies to reduce costs and improve user experience.
- Establish data governance practices and documentation standards to support compliance and operational clarity.
- Conduct code reviews and technical design discussions to uphold engineering best practices and system reliability.
- Troubleshoot complex data issues, diagnosing root causes and implementing effective resolutions under tight deadlines.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance, feedback, and technical leadership during project execution.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve the efficiency and capability of the data platform.
- Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to ensure the platform enables advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of data projects, from initial scoping through deployment and post-launch review.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to security policies and regulatory requirements regarding data handling and privacy.
- Contribute to the continuous refinement of development workflows to increase speed and stability.
Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience in data engineering development.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong commitment to product quality and building systems for reliable releases.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems principles and data processing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with data infrastructure components and data analytics practices.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language used for backend development.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git, and collaborative development workflows.
- Understanding of data modeling techniques and database design principles for both relational and NoSQL stores.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code concepts is mandatory.
- Proven track record of writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug issues in complex systems.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations to support production systems as needed.
