About the role
In this role, you will act as the primary catalyst for early-stage companies to embrace the Vercel infrastructure platform and transform their development workflows. You will own the end-to-end discovery process with engineering and product leadership, articulating how platform capabilities solve specific technical and business challenges. The position requires you to demonstrate a clear understanding of startup growth dynamics and how deployment platforms directly impact time-to-market and engineering velocity. You will be responsible for establishing trust with key stakeholders and positioning Vercel as the strategic infrastructure partner for their scaling journey. This role involves translating complex platform features into tangible outcomes that resonate with the priorities of fast-moving teams. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that your insights from the field directly inform product positioning and market messaging. Your work will directly influence the adoption metrics and long-term success of our startup customers. You will serve as the voice of the customer back to internal teams, helping to refine the product roadmap for the startup segment.

What you'll do
Identify and qualify high-potential startup opportunities that align precisely with the capabilities and value propositions of the Vercel platform.
Conduct in-depth research on target companies to build comprehensive profiles of engineering, product, and executive decision-makers for personalized outreach.
Develop and execute an outbound prospecting strategy designed to build a robust sales pipeline within the startup ecosystem.
Establish and nurture relationships with Account Executives to ensure seamless handoffs and collaborative growth within the target market.
Coordinate closely with Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success teams to iterate and refine outreach strategies based on real-world feedback.
Articulate the technical benefits of the Vercel platform to engineering leaders while simultaneously communicating business value to product stakeholders.
Utilize Salesforce to maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions, ensuring data integrity supports effective follow-up and forecasting.
Leverage Outreach to manage and optimize communication sequences, tracking engagement metrics to improve contact effectiveness over time.
Demonstrate the functionality of Next.js and the Vercel platform during discovery calls and tailored presentations for technical audiences.
Analyze customer success metrics and sales performance data to identify trends that inform improved strategies for startup acquisition.
Requirements
Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in sales, customer support, or technical roles involving technical products, providing a foundation for understanding complex solutions.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences without relying on jargon.
Show strong attention to detail and a self-starting work ethic that drives consistent execution in a fast-paced environment.
Express a genuine interest in startup culture and the unique challenges faced by founders building in today's market.
Maintain knowledge of current web development trends and technologies to engage credibly with technical evaluators.
Utilize Salesforce as the primary CRM tool to log activities, update deal stages, and ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
Leverage Outreach or similar sales software to manage communication cadences, track touchpoints, and analyze response rates.
Demonstrate proficiency with the Next.js framework and the Vercel platform to provide credible technical guidance during the sales cycle.
Nice to have
Prior experience in an SDR or similar sales role that involves managing high volumes of prospects and qualifying opportunities.
An educational background in computer science, web development, or related technical fields that provide context for platform discussions.
Familiarity with the Vercel platform or Next.js that allows for a deeper understanding of the technical nuances during conversations.
Experience using Salesforce, Outreach, or similar sales software to manage complex pipelines and automate follow-up processes.
