Veeva Systems is looking for a Senior Solution Consultant to join our team in Shanghai, China. This on-site position involves working directly with sales teams and clients to demonstrate and implement our SaaS solutions tailored specifically for the Life Sciences manufacturing industry. What you'll do
- Collaborate closely with Account Partners to lead presales activities for potential clients across China, ensuring a smooth and effective sales process.
- Engage with business leaders, technical teams, and end-users to thoroughly understand their operational challenges, regulatory requirements, and business goals related to GMP manufacturing.
- Develop and deliver customized product demonstrations, workshops, and Conference Room Pilots (CRPs) that effectively showcase the capabilities and benefits of Veeva Quality solutions.
- Manage the technical aspects of complex sales cycles, including preparing and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring all technical questions are addressed accurately and promptly.
- Maintain and continuously improve demo environments to reflect real-world GMP manufacturing scenarios specific to Chinese clients, ensuring relevance and accuracy in presentations.
- Serve as a domain expert, representing Veeva at industry events, webinars, and user meetings, and providing thought leadership on quality and manufacturing topics within the Life Sciences sector.
- Work collaboratively with global teams such as Product Management, Professional Services, and Strategy to gather feedback from Chinese customers, helping shape product development and localization efforts.
- Assist in creating sales collateral, technical documentation, and training materials to support client engagements and internal teams.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients during the implementation phase, ensuring smooth onboarding and adoption of Veeva solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to position Veeva solutions effectively and advise clients accordingly.
- Support the development of best practices for solution demonstrations and client interactions, contributing to the continuous improvement of the sales process.
- Occasionally participate in industry conferences, seminars, and workshops to promote Veeva's solutions and expand professional network within the Chinese Life Sciences community.
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge about Veeva products and related industry standards to effectively communicate value propositions to diverse audiences.
- Provide feedback from customer interactions to the product teams to help improve existing solutions and develop new features aligned with customer needs.
- Assist in training and mentoring new team members or junior staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality demonstrations and client support.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software pre-sales or solution consulting within the Life Sciences or pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, with a focus on plant-level operations such as QMS, MES, LIMS, Plant WMS, EAM, or SCADA/Automation software.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex enterprise software sales processes, with excellent presentation, storytelling, and communication skills tailored for executive and technical audiences.
- Strong technical proficiency in configuring cloud-based software solutions and independently managing demo environments to reflect real-world manufacturing scenarios.
- Professional working proficiency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive individual capable of working independently without constant supervision.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30-40% within China to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support sales activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Knowledge of GMP compliance, regulatory standards, and quality management practices in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the drug manufacturing process and related industry challenges is a plus.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SaaS and cloud computing solutions, including deployment, configuration, and management.
- Experience working with Pharmaceutical Quality Control laboratories and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Basic scripting or programming skills, such as Python, JavaScript, or familiarity with REST APIs/SDKs, with a keen interest in emerging AI technologies.
- Knowledge of industry standards, such as 21 CFR Part 11, and regulatory guidelines applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Experience working with cross-cultural teams and understanding of the Chinese pharmaceutical market landscape.
- Previous experience working with global teams and understanding of international sales processes.
