Salesforce Senior Developer
Job description
About the role
This role is for a Salesforce Senior Developer who turns complex product ideas into robust, production-ready code for the Global Luxury Maison CRM Factory. You will operate within small, cross-functional teams that rely on agile rituals like sprints and daily standups to deliver incremental value. A significant part of your week will be dedicated to planning, code review, and debugging, highlighting that engineering is as much about collaboration as it is about writing new code. The position requires you to communicate intricate technical concepts in plain language, ensuring that both technical and non-technical stakeholders understand the rationale behind every decision. You will exercise technical veto authority, stopping fast-fixes that could compromise platform integrity and maintaining a zero-tolerance stance against defects reaching production. Success in this role is defined by your ability to own end-to-end solutions while mentoring peers and upholding the craftsmanship of the codebase.
Key facts
What you'll do
You will own the entire lifecycle of feature implementation, translating design specifications into technical solutions that are deployed and documented to the highest standards for retail operations. Using technical veto authority, you will safeguard the platform by rejecting fast-fixes that introduce risk, ensuring production stability remains uncompromised. You will implement the technical components of automated business and regression tests, creating robust validation layers for retail and clienteling workflows. By actively managing and reducing technical debt, you will maintain the backlog to ensure long-term platform stability that supports continuous innovation and growth. You will handle corrective maintenance by investigating incidents, applying fixes, conducting unit tests, and delivering updated documentation that enhances future supportability. Driving minor change requests from initial analysis through specification, development, UAT support, and final delivery, you will ensure every release is controlled and traceable. You will optimize complex SOQL and SOSL queries, ensuring they perform efficiently within Salesforce governor limits to support high-volume retail environments. Leveraging Salesforce DX, VS Code Salesforce Extensions, and Git-based workflows, you will modernize development practices to improve speed and reliability. You will utilize CI/CD tooling such as Copado or Gearset to automate deployment pipelines, reducing manual errors and accelerating release cycles. Through code review leadership, you will set and enforce coding standards across a multi-developer squad, promoting consistency and quality in every pull request.
Requirements
Candidates must bring 6-8 years of confirmed hands-on Salesforce platform development experience to the role. Deep expertise in Apex is non-negotiable, including writing triggers, batch jobs, and asynchronous processing patterns. Proficiency with Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Salesforce declarative tools such as Flows, Process Builder, Validation Rules, and Permission Sets is mandatory. Mastery of SOQL/SOSL query optimization and strict adherence to Salesforce governor limits is essential for maintaining performance. Experience with Salesforce DX (SFDX), VS Code Salesforce Extensions, and Git-based development workflows is required for modern engineering practices. Familiarity with CI/CD tooling for Salesforce, including Copado or Gearset or equivalent deployment pipeline tools, is necessary for streamlined releases. Strong Test Driven Development (TDD) discipline is expected, with a focus on maintaining high unit test coverage standards across all solutions. Understanding of integration patterns using REST and SOAP APIs, Platform Events, and Change Data Capture is critical for connecting systems effectively. Code review leadership will be required to establish and enforce coding standards across a multi-developer squad, ensuring quality at scale. The ability to lead and participate in pair programming is valued, as it promotes knowledge sharing and elevates overall craftsmanship. You must be capable of producing detailed technical documentation, including architecture decision records and solution design docs, to support long-term maintainability. Experience with Agile and SAFe methodology is essential, including participation in PI Planning, sprint cadences, and proactive backlog management. Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are necessary for seamless global collaboration with distributed teams. A strong ownership mindset is required, with the ability to lead by example, mentor peers, and take initiative on complex challenges. A detail-oriented approach combined with a zero-defect delivery attitude will ensure high-quality outcomes in every engagement. The ability to work collaboratively with nearshore and offshore teams is important for synchronizing efforts across time zones. Salesforce Platform Developer I certification is required for all profiles to validate foundational knowledge. Salesforce Platform Developer II certification is required to demonstrate advanced expertise and credibility. JavaScript Developer I certification is required to support full-stack responsibilities within the CRM ecosystem. Platform App Builder certification is required to confirm proficiency in declarative configuration and design. Development Lifecycle & Deployment Architect certification is mandatory for Tech Lead profiles to oversee architectural integrity.
Practical notes
This is a Bengaluru-based, full-time position. The role may involve occasional travel within India and internationally for workshops, stakeholder reviews, or client engagements.
