Automation QA Engineer

About the role

You will define quality standards for a live-streaming product that serves 400,000 users or more on a global scale. The role owns web test strategy for a squad of 13 QA specialists who work in collaboration with four distinct development teams and their tech leads. You will concentrate on constructing resilient test architecture that can scale in tandem with the platform's rapid growth. This position is responsible for building and maintaining web automation suites that address complex live events, interactive chat interactions, and intricate administrative workflows using existing tools. You will play a central role in a product that currently ranks among the Top 5 streaming products in the United States and holds a position in the Top 10 globally. Your contributions will directly support the product mission of bringing joy, combating loneliness, and providing safe, ad-free entertainment that retains a large and engaged audience.

What you'll do

• Execute the work posted for the Automation QA Engineer position within the Vacancies platform ecosystem.

• Build and maintain comprehensive web automation suites capable of handling live events, chat interactions, and administrative workflows.
• Leverage existing tools to create scripts that validate real-time features, performance under load, and data consistency within live environments.
• Analyze test artifacts and results meticulously to confirm stability, performance under load, and the correctness of real-time streaming features.
• Deliver testable increments on schedule, coordinating with development teams to sustain high release quality and velocity.
• Collaborate with product and engineering groups to define experiments, validate metrics, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Create detailed debugging materials and failure reports that accelerate root cause analysis for live-stream problems and outages.
• Refresh test documentation and process maps regularly so that future work remains clear, maintainable, and scalable across the squad.
• Protect platform integrity by writing exhaustive test scenarios for edge cases in chat functionality, payment processing, and stream transitions.
• Drive the initiative for web automation as a key growth area, ensuring the test architecture evolves with the platform's complexity.

Requirements

• Possess three to five years of professional experience in test automation specifically for web applications.
• Demonstrate strong scripting skills using JavaScript or TypeScript for test implementation and maintenance.
• Understand CI/CD pipelines deeply and comprehend how automated tests fit into deployment workflows and release strategies.
• Read and write database queries to validate data consistency and integrity in live production environments.
• Apply testing methodologies and quality metrics specific to a live-streaming context and real-time systems.
• Show a proven ability to work within an Agile environment, delivering value in sprints alongside development teams.
• Exhibit strong problem-solving skills when dealing with flaky tests, real-time data, and complex user interactions.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and test expectations.

Nice to have

• Experience with live-streaming or real-time communication products is valued and provides a distinct advantage.

• Engagement is Full-time.
• Compensation is specified as 250,000 UAH per year.
