About the role
This position is responsible for the analysis of raw materials and associated documentation to ensure the consistent upholding of product quality standards within the Fort Worth manufacturing facility. The specialist will work in close collaboration with both quality and engineering teams to prevent deviations and maintain compliance with established specifications for all products ready for shipment. Success in this role is defined by the ability to support and sustain high quality across all manufacturing operations through meticulous attention to detail. The individual in this role owns the verification processes that act as the first line of defense against non-conforming materials entering production. They will be expected to exercise ownership over procedural documentation, ensuring that all work is clear and easily reviewed by peers. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying risks and communicating findings effectively in writing, as decisions are often recorded for future reference. Team members are expected to set their own priorities, share progress updates regularly, and ask for assistance early to keep projects on track. What you'll do
Verify incoming raw materials, components, and documentation against strict specifications to confirm full compliance before release.
Complete First Shot approvals for molded components to validate tooling, process setup, and production readiness.
Create, update, and review Standard Process Instructions (SPIs) on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and alignment with current practices.
Record Test Run Evaluation data for products with support and guidance from MQE (Manufacturing Quality Engineering) personnel.
Provide support for TRE (Test Release Evaluation) completion to satisfy all quality requirements for product launch.
Participate in containment activities and work alongside Quality Engineers to solve problems and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and assist with the USC-Texas Calibration Program to ensure all measurement standards are traceable and valid.
Supply technical support to Quality Control Technicians to sustain smooth workflow and reduce downtime.
Perform detailed visual inspections using optical fiber, cable, connector, and hardware samples to identify defects.
Ensure all work is completed in adherence to safety protocols, company policies, and customer requirements at all times.
Utilize quality management system software to log results, track non-conformances, and generate necessary reports.
Assist in the execution of audits, both internal and customer, by preparing and retrieving required documentation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing trends and contributing to problem-solving discussions.
Follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure timely resolution and effectiveness.
Requirements
A technical associate degree is preferred or a minimum of 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experience as a US Conec Quality Control Technician is required for this position.
Knowledge of optical fiber, cable, connectors, and related hardware products is considered a plus during evaluation.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are necessary for daily collaboration.
The ability to plan tests, analyze results, and interpret outcomes to determine the validity of production outputs.
Familiarity with standard MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required for task execution.
Candidates must possess US work authorization and cannot be eligible for visa sponsorship at any time.
Onsite work is mandatory in Fort Worth during the specified night shift schedule without exception.
Nice to have
Previous experience with vision systems, stereoscopes, and various gaging instruments is preferred.
Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management principles and manufacturing documentation processes.
Experience with calibration management systems and traceability documentation.
