Business Development Manager
Job description
Global Business Development Manager
About the Role
This position defines the commercial engine for Unlimit in a primary Asian market. You act as the central orchestrator for enterprise expansion, directing complex sales cycles from initial market intelligence to closed contract execution. Success requires you to synthesize intricate local payment behaviors with the structural advantages of a global financial platform. Your responsibility is to construct resilient market entry strategies that reconcile regional compliance with the operational realities of automated cross-border transactions. You operate at the intersection of local regulatory nuance and a standardized global infrastructure.
The position demands ownership over the entire deal lifecycle. You will deconstruct local market friction and reassemble it into a compelling value proposition for internal technical and commercial teams. Your focus is on architecting go-to-market sequences that convert entrenched local habits into adoption of programmable settlement rails. You will serve as the primary translator, converting technical capabilities into narratives that resonate with both operations leaders and regulatory authorities. This role directly influences revenue trajectory by unlocking corridors where digital adoption was previously inhibited by cash dependency.
Key Responsibilities
You will conduct deep territorial analysis to map the intersection of local payment preferences and Unlimit's global transaction infrastructure. This involves identifying specific market segments where legacy settlement methods create bottlenecks for digital transformation. You are tasked with designing phased entry sequences that address cash-based ecosystems without disrupting existing commercial flows.
A core function involves crafting regulatory narratives that explain automated settlement velocity to local authorities. You will orchestrate technical demonstrations that concretely illustrate the transition from multi-day cross-border settlement to near-instantaneous settlement. This includes guiding prospective partners through detailed constraint documentation, ensuring implementation timelines remain predictable and transparent.
You will transform complex policy documents into actionable onboarding workflows that maintain growth velocity while adhering to compliance standards. A critical duty is coordinating with engineering teams to configure quote objects, ensuring accurate reflection of regional tax regulations and settlement timeframes. You will lead data reviews to identify specific friction points within the conversion funnel and propose targeted solutions.
Prior to live deployment, you must conduct rigorous validation of new payment routes within sandbox environments. You are the final gatekeeper ensuring that no transaction proceeds to production without complete alignment on operational and regulatory requirements. The role concludes by institutionalizing renewal discussions, initiating strategic conversations before existing contract terms conclude.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess direct experience conducting commercial negotiations across at least two distinct regulatory jurisdictions. This background must include financial infrastructure products, specifically involving payment rails and ledger technologies. A proven track record of exceeding designated monetary thresholds in closed deals is essential.
A deep understanding of settlement practices within Asian markets is a non-negotiable requirement for this position. You must possess the legal right to work in the designated region and demonstrate the capability to navigate multi-layered approval processes. These processes often involve banking regulators and national financial authorities.
Compensation and Location
The position is based in Shanghai and operates on a full-time basis. The compensation package ranges from twenty-five thousand to thirty-five thousand United States dollars on an annual basis.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with technical documentation, including API specifications, is advantageous. Familiarity with standard product integration methodologies will accelerate onboarding and partnership development.
Tools and Skills
Proficiency with NoSQL databases is necessary for data analysis and reporting. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in navigating REST APIs to test integration points. Advanced capability in mapping tools and complex spreadsheet systems is required to manage territory analysis and financial forecasting.
Administrative Note
All application procedures and official documentation must be verified and completed through the designated corporate portal. Do not rely on external sources for process validation.
