Special Projects Coordinator
Uncommon Schools seeks a Special Projects Coordinator (SPC) to execute essential logistics and operational support. This role ensures students and teachers can flourish by managing key systems. The SPC reports directly to the school's Director of Operations.
The Special Projects Coordinator owns execution across several critical workstreams. These include family and student events, such as Report Card Conferences. The role oversees internal quarterly assessments and state assessments, guaranteeing strict compliance and adherence to state-specific regulations. The SPC coordinates student food systems, managing the dispersal of all meals and partnerships with food vendors. Responsibility for student and staff technology falls within this position. The role also handles school visual décor and aesthetics, celebrating students to foster a welcoming environment. Additional workstreams include transportation systems, extra-curricular activities, enrichment programs, and field trips. The SPC drives other projects and new initiatives designed to support operations and student achievement. At larger campuses, responsibilities align with specific titles like SPC

Candidates must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication. Strong interpersonal skills with teammates, teachers, students, parents, and stakeholders are essential. The role requires maintaining a calm, professional demeanor amid competing demands and external pressures. The Special Projects Coordinator exercises large project oversight from planning to execution. This position carries direct accountability for results across multiple stakeholders, including teachers, building partners, and operations associates. Strong digital literacy is required, particularly in database management and Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel. Prior project management and/or office-based customer service experience is necessary. Excellent time management skills are mandatory to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. A Bachelor's degree is required. Spanish-speaking skills are strongly preferred to facilitate communication with students, families, and community members. Candidates must hold 1 to 3 years of teaching or school administrative office experience.

Compensation for this role ranges from $23.77 to $31.13. Most candidates meeting the job description requirements will receive an offer between $23.77 and $25.26. Starting pay is determined by factors including relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
