Twitch is looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join their Tax Operations team in Seattle, Washington. This role focuses on managing and improving the tax compliance and reporting processes for the company's growing operations across multiple states and jurisdictions. The Senior Tax Analyst will work closely with finance, legal, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and remittances. The position serves as a key contributor to maintaining and strengthening Twitch's tax governance framework and supporting the company's long-term strategic objectives while taking ownership of complex tax projects and process improvements.

What you'll do
Lead the preparation and thorough review of federal, state, and local tax returns for the company's operations.
Manage tax compliance calendars and ensure all filing deadlines are met without exception.
Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to resolve outstanding tax matters efficiently.
Analyze new and existing tax regulations and assess their impact on Twitch's business operations.
Maintain and regularly update tax provision workpapers with detailed supporting documentation.
Support the ongoing automation of tax data collection and reporting workflows across departments.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information needed for accurate tax filings.
Review indirect tax assessments and identify meaningful opportunities for ongoing tax optimization.
Prepare detailed tax variance analyses and present findings to senior leadership regularly.
Assist with tax planning initiatives that align with the company's strategic business objectives.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to the finance team promptly.
Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures for tax-related workflows and documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
Minimum of five years of experience in tax operations or a corporate tax environment.
Strong working knowledge of federal and state tax compliance procedures and filing deadlines.
Proficiency with tax preparation software and enterprise resource planning systems is expected.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is considered essential for this role.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex and multi-step tax projects.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced corporate environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Nice to have
Experience with multi-state or multi-jurisdiction tax filings is considered a strong plus for this role.
Familiarity with tax technology platforms and data analytics tools is highly beneficial.
CPA certification or active progress toward obtaining a CPA license is strongly valued.
Prior experience in the media, entertainment, or technology sector is considered helpful.
Experience with tax provision and ASC 740 compliance is a valuable asset.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex tax regulations effectively.
Skills & tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and complex spreadsheet modeling is required.
Experience with Workiva, Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, or comparable tax platforms.
Knowledge of general ledger and financial reporting systems is expected.
Familiarity with data visualization tools for building tax reporting dashboards.
Understanding of indirect tax frameworks including sales and use tax.
Ability to navigate large datasets and extract meaningful tax insights.
Experience with tax provision software and fixed asset management tools.
Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
Experience with tax research databases and resources such as Checkpoint or CCH.

This role is based in the Seattle, WA office and requires regular on-site presence each work week.
The Senior Tax Analyst reports directly to the Manager or Director of Tax Operations.
