About the role
You will own the strategic roadmap and execution for Tunnl's audience portfolio, defining how audiences are discovered, built, and activated across the platform. You will serve as the primary product voice for audience-related initiatives, balancing user needs with commercial objectives. You will collaborate closely with engineering and design to translate complex requirements into clear product specs that drive intuitive user workflows. You will analyze behavioral data and market signals to continuously refine the audience experience and identify new opportunities. You will ensure that product decisions support both platform adoption and revenue growth. You will act as a bridge between research capabilities and audience products, enabling clients to activate insights effectively.
Key facts
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Tunnl's audience-facing surfaces, including Audience Explorer, Audience Builder, Manage Audiences, Audience Library, and the Halo Audience Platform experience.
- Design and iterate on intuitive, searchable, and scalable interfaces that align with how users discover and activate audiences across the platform.
- Remove obstacles for engineering by making timely product decisions, resolving ambiguity, and ensuring stakeholder alignment throughout delivery.
- Act as a product lead in sprint planning and execution, working alongside engineering teams to define, prioritize, and deliver audience-related features.
- Oversee the ongoing health of all audiences, including scheduling regular refreshes, deprecating outdated audiences, and managing clear lifecycle states.
- Determine which audiences Tunnl should build, refresh, or sunset based on commercial demand, engagement metrics, and strategic positioning.
- Establish and maintain metadata standards for audience tables to support product discovery, sales enablement, and partner distribution requirements.
- Coordinate inputs from the Strategic Research team and the National Omnibus Survey to translate research signals into actionable audience product decisions.
- Take ownership of audience distribution to external marketplaces such as StackAdapt and The Trade Desk, and guide future integrations as the program expands.
- Make decisions about audience placement in marketplaces, weighing demand, revenue potential, and cannibalization risk.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships team to ensure correct mapping, naming, packaging, and labeling of audiences for each partner ecosystem.
- Define and enforce naming conventions, pricing strategy inputs, and guardrails for marketplace audiences to maintain consistency and clarity.
- Monitor audience performance indicators such as revenue generation, engagement across surfaces, and downstream activation rates to guide improvements.
- Work with Revenue and Partnerships teams to identify high-performing audiences, diagnose underperformance, and recommend product changes.
- Use quantitative and qualitative insights to recommend when audiences should be enhanced, consolidated, or retired.
- Define and manage the user experience for Halo audiences, ensuring they are coherent, well-structured, and aligned with platform goals.
- Support go-to-market initiatives by developing audience offerings and enabling partners with clear positioning and usage guidance.
- Ensure product requirements are clearly documented and traceable, enabling efficient collaboration across design, research, and engineering.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the audience marketplace landscape, including competitor positioning and emerging distribution models.
- Balance platform subscription needs with exclusive audience offerings, considering paywalls and access strategies.
Requirements
- You are legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and this role is not suitable for remote or hybrid arrangements outside the DC Metro Area.
- You possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, and you bring a strong portfolio of product work to the role.
- You have 5-7 years of experience in product management, with a track record of owning complex data products or audience-related tools.
- You have direct experience working with ad tech, marketplace platforms, or audience segmentation tools in a prior role.
- You are comfortable navigating enterprise sales motions and understanding how products are adopted by marketing and research teams.
- You have experience collaborating with engineering teams using agile development practices and participating in sprint planning.
- You are proficient in analyzing quantitative data to inform product decisions and can work with dashboards, SQL queries, and experimentation concepts.
- You can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating research insights into clear product requirements.
- You are highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, and comfortable making decisions in ambiguous product contexts.
- You understand the importance of compliance, governance, and metadata quality in platform products that support sales and distribution.
Nice to have
- Experience working with survey data, sampling methodology, or insights from national probability-based studies.
- Familiarity with DSPs, demand-side platforms, and digital advertising execution workflows.
- Knowledge of how research insights are translated into audience strategies for brands, agencies, or advocacy groups.
- Experience with marketplace or two-sided platform dynamics and how they apply to audience products.
- Background in advocacy, public affairs, or risk and reputation management contexts.
Practical notes
The work week is full-time, and this position is based in the DC Metro Area.
Travel is not currently required for this role.
