This role places you at the center of a data collection effort designed to capture the intricate details of the built environment across the European Union. You will be responsible for executing predefined driving routes with precision, ensuring that every street and point of interest is documented to the highest standard. The position requires a high level of personal accountability, as the quality of your observations directly impacts strategic decisions made by our partners. You will operate in the region of Domalain, integrating your daily work into a structured schedule that supports the broader project timeline. Success in this role depends on your ability to follow complex instructions consistently and adapt to the varying conditions found in the field. Your contributions will feed directly into one of the most widely used online mapping platforms in the world, making your work essential to digital accuracy.

What you'll do

Execute driving maneuvers along assigned predefined routes while maintaining strict adherence to safety and data integrity standards.

Capture high quality images of streets, commercial zones, and key public spaces using specialized equipment mounted on the vehicle.

Operate a 360 degree removable camera system and lidar hardware to gather comprehensive visual and spatial information of the surroundings.

Record clear voice notes and verbal observations to document details that cannot be captured through imagery alone.

Scan and document specific areas using digital tools, ensuring that all required data points are accurately recorded on board.

Transfer collected data to onboard computer storage devices, utilizing solid state drives to preserve the integrity of the information.

Identify areas that require revisiting due to weather or visibility conditions, and schedule follow up passes to ensure complete coverage.

Maintain detailed logs of your activities, noting time stamps, route progress, and any anomalies encountered during the shift.

Collaborate with the central project team to resolve discrepancies, clarify instructions, and confirm that objectives are being met efficiently.

Support the long term goals of the mapping project by contributing consistent and reliable field data over an extended operational period.

Monitor the performance of vehicle mounted equipment, performing basic checks to ensure cameras and sensors are functioning correctly.

Adapt your workflow based on changing priorities, such as shifts in route assignments or adjustments due to unforeseen site conditions.

Demonstrate strong observational skills to identify and record relevant features that are critical for the accuracy of the final dataset.

Represent Tsmg professionally while interacting with the public and other stakeholders encountered during field operations.

Requirements

You must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for operating a vehicle in France, with a clean driving record that demonstrates safe driving habits.

You must be legally authorized to work in France and provide documentation proving your eligibility for employment without sponsorship requirements.

You must be fluent in French, both written and verbal, to accurately communicate observations and follow complex instructions during the field work.

You must have a secondary school diploma or equivalent educational attainment that demonstrates your capacity to understand technical instructions.

You must be able to commit to a full time schedule during standard business hours, specifically between 8 in the morning and 7 in the evening.

You must be comfortable working outdoors in varied weather conditions and managing the physical demands of moving equipment in and around the vehicle.

You must have reliable personal transportation in the form of a vehicle that meets the project specifications for data collection.

You must be detail oriented and capable of maintaining focus during long driving sessions while ensuring the accuracy of collected information.

Previous experience in data collection, field research, or logistics roles that involve strict adherence to predefined routes.

Prior familiarity with mapping concepts or geographic information systems that would allow you to grasp spatial relationships quickly.

Experience operating cameras or sensors in a professional or technical context, reducing setup time during onboarding.

Practical notes

This is a full time position with standard business hours from 8 to 19, requiring consistent availability during the project duration.

Travel is limited to the predefined zones within Domalain and surrounding areas as dictated by the assigned routes.

This engagement is expected to last between 3 to 6 months of active work, depending on the scope of the targeted area.

Candidates must successfully pass a safety driving test, an interview with a recruiter, and a standard onboarding process before beginning field work.
