Terry Soot Management Group (Tsmg) invites applications for a Field Data Collector position based in Montfroc, France. Tsmg is a field data collection company established in 2017 in Europe. We operate where automation cannot go. Our work involves counting features, taking photographs, recording video, and scanning environments to capture every detail required for your decisions.

This project focuses on collecting images of streets, key points of interest, and public spaces across European Union countries. The project utilizes vehicles equipped with 360-degree cameras mounted on rooftops. These cameras record the area surrounding the vehicle and store the imagery on computers located inside the vehicle. The collected data will be used to enhance one of the most popular online mapping platforms globally.

Data collectors will receive specific routes covering streets and public areas across European Union countries. Adverse weather conditions may necessitate multiple visits to the same locations to ensure optimal image quality. The project duration is estimated at three to six months, covering various data collection zones.

The ideal candidate enjoys driving, possesses strong knowledge of the local area and traffic patterns, and demonstrates high responsibility and reliability. The scheduled timeline is Monday through Friday, eight hours per day, totaling 40 hours per week. Weekend work may be required due to weather conditions.

Key Role Responsibilities

You will manage the complete cycle of street and public point imaging operations. This includes driving assigned circuits through urban and historic districts while maintaining consistent focus on the road and equipment. You will capture street-level imagery and continuously monitor traffic patterns and safety concerns to ensure smooth operations. You will coordinate daily schedules around weather conditions to secure the best possible image quality for the project.

You will document every visited zone and verify coverage completeness at each checkpoint using provided digital tools. You will interact with municipal guidelines and local stakeholders during field operations to ensure compliance and smooth workflows. You will maintain vehicle equipment and camera systems meticulously to ensure reliable data acquisition throughout the tour. You will adapt routes dynamically in response to road closures, construction, or unforeseen obstacles that may impede progress.

You will submit structured logs and media packages to base for further processing and quality assurance. You will partner with internal analysts to align collected assets with mapping accuracy objectives and project specifications. You will support extended weekend operations when inclement weather requires revisits to specific streets and areas. You will communicate effectively regarding any anomalies or observations that could impact data integrity or project timelines.

Position Requirements

You must hold a clean driving license appropriate for local roads in France and be legally authorized to operate a vehicle for professional purposes. You must be available to work 40 hours weekly between Monday and Friday, with flexibility for weekend assignments as required by project needs. You must have a deep understanding of the Montfroc area and regional traffic behaviors to navigate efficiently and safely.

You must be reliable, responsible, and capable of following detailed instructions for an extended duration without constant supervision. You must demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure image quality meets project standards and requirements. You must possess good physical stamina to perform duties involving extended periods of sitting, vehicle entry and exit, and equipment handling. You must be proficient in reading and understanding written instructions in English or French, depending on project needs.

You must adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times while operating equipment and managing vehicle operations. You must maintain confidentiality regarding project specifics, data collection methodologies, and any proprietary information encountered during operations. You must be willing to undergo any necessary training related to equipment usage, data handling, and operational procedures before commencing field duties.

Practical Information

This is a contract position for full-time work based in Montfroc. The hourly compensation is 15.69 € gross, remunerated according to French labor regulations and contractual terms. Hours are fixed at 40 per week, scheduled Monday through Friday, with potential weekend extensions dependent on operational requirements and weather constraints. Travel is limited to the Montfroc area, as routes are predefined and optimized for efficiency and coverage.
