You will play a critical role in supporting one of the most widely used mapping platforms by providing the raw visual data it relies on. What you'll do

• Configure and mount removable 360-degree cameras and lidar sensors inside the vehicle to achieve optimal coverage for street level imagery.
• Operate the vehicle to drive assigned routes through urban centers, commercial districts, and public spaces under open sky conditions across the European region.
• Execute controlled revisits to specific city blocks or zones when atmospheric conditions such as cloud cover interfere with image clarity or when lighting angles create suboptimal data capture.
• Manage the secure handling of storage devices by saving captured video clips and lidar scans onto onboard solid state drives and ensuring media integrity.
• Coordinate directly with central dispatch teams to communicate progress and manage schedule adjustments across different European territories as project needs evolve.
• Scan the surrounding environment using lidar units to create comprehensive spatial documentation that complements the visual data sets.
• Transfer batches of collected data to secured computers at designated bases while verifying the integrity of the media to prevent corruption or loss.
• Collaborate with routing software tools to optimize travel paths and actively avoid areas that have already been mapped to maintain efficiency.
• Adhere strictly to the predefined schedule requiring full time commitment during standard business hours from 08:00 to 19:00 without deviation.
• Maintain the physical equipment and vehicle setup to ensure that sensors remain functional and calibrated throughout the duration of the deployment.
• Document any anomalies or unexpected obstacles encountered during the drive to facilitate troubleshooting and process improvement.
• Support the overall project objective of supplying high quality visual data that enhances global mapping services used by millions of people.
• Work independently in remote locations while respecting local traffic laws, cultural norms, and safety regulations in every country visited.
• Demonstrate reliability and punctuality to ensure that data collection timelines are met for projects lasting three to six months on average.

Requirements

• You must possess a full license authorizing the operation of heavy vehicles on public roads, as driving large or equipped vehicles is essential for this role.
• You must be capable of working full days within the fixed schedule of 08:00 in the morning until 19:00 in the evening for the entire duration of the contract.
• You must be willing to commit to consecutive months of work, with projects typically spanning three to six months to complete the required coverage.
• You must be prepared to manage travel across multiple nations, ensuring strict compliance with local rules regarding traffic, documentation, and border procedures.
• You must be proficient in operating delicate devices that capture video and spatial information accurately without introducing errors or gaps in the data.
• You must have the physical ability to lift and install heavy sensor equipment into the vehicle repeatedly throughout the workday.
