What you'll do

• Provide comprehensive legal advice to various departments within the organization, ensuring that all business operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, and partnership agreements, to protect the interests of the company.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues affecting the company, providing timely and accurate legal opinions to support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed, managing relationships and ensuring that the company's interests are represented effectively.
• Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards and best practices.
• Assist in the management of any litigation or dispute resolution processes, working to minimize legal risks and protect the company's reputation.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on legal compliance matters, fostering a culture of awareness and adherence to legal standards.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company, proactively advising management on necessary adjustments to policies or practices.
• Support the corporate governance framework by ensuring compliance with corporate laws and regulations, including maintaining corporate records and filings.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions, offering legal insights that align with the company's business objectives.
• Review and advise on intellectual property matters, including trademarks and copyrights, to safeguard the company's assets.
• Assist in the preparation of legal documents and reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the Philippines.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, preferably in-house.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
• High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Nice to have

• Experience in the technology or telecommunications sector is a plus.
• Familiarity with international business transactions and cross-border legal issues.
• Additional certifications or training in compliance or corporate governance.
• Proficiency in a second language, particularly in languages relevant to the company's business operations.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in legal research tools and databases, such as LexisNexis or Westlaw.
• Familiarity with contract management software and document automation tools.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document preparation and presentations.
• Ability to utilize project management tools to track legal projects and deadlines effectively.
