What you'll do

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications to ensure thorough coverage of all functionalities.
• Execute manual and automated tests to identify defects and ensure the software meets quality standards before release.
• Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide feedback on potential quality issues early in the development cycle.
• Analyze test results, document defects, and work with the development team to facilitate timely resolution of issues.
• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness, reducing time to market for new features.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and adherence to best practices.
• Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to ensure optimal performance and quality assurance practices.
• Mentor junior QA engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of quality within the team.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in testing tools and methodologies, integrating new techniques into the QA process as appropriate.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on testing progress, results, and quality metrics to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Assist in the development of training materials and documentation to support the onboarding of new team members and enhance team capabilities.
• Engage in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex issues, ensuring that solutions are implemented effectively to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on both manual and automated testing.
• Proficiency in testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of performance testing and security testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience in a cloud-based environment, particularly with AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with mobile application testing and related tools.
• Knowledge of accessibility testing standards and practices.
• Previous experience in a startup or fast-growing company, adapting to changing priorities and challenges.
• Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) is a plus.
