About Torc Robotics
Torc Robotics writes the software that lets heavy trucks drive themselves on public highways. The company began in Blacksburg, Virginia, in 2005 with students from Virginia Tech and later became part of Daimler Truck. Engineering and test work now run in the United States, Canada, and Germany, with an early commercial focus on Freightliner Cascadia trucks used in U.S. freight.
Building software is iterative: ship a slice, measure it, correct course. Code review and written design notes keep quality from depending on one person. What you will do is limited to this posting. These paragraphs describe the craft, not extra assignments.
Software engineering work usually means turning product intent into systems that run in production. Engineers write and review code, break large changes into reviewable pieces, and watch how those changes behave after they ship.
