About the role
You will own the end-to-end strategy and execution for Tin Can's brand and performance marketing initiatives, ensuring every touchpoint feels cohesive and on-brand. You will act as the central connection between creative ideas and their execution, translating consumer insights and cultural trends into tangible campaigns that resonate with families. You will partner closely with the Head of Brand Strategy & Communications and collaborate across product, design, and growth teams to support our scaling journey. You will bring energy and curiosity to every project, thriving on variety and taking pride in thoughtful, high-quality execution. You will identify and nurture relationships with partners and influencers who align with our nostalgic, screen-free brand promise. You will ensure that whether a family interacts with us via newsletter, retail, or a social creator, the experience reflects a single, clear Tin Can identity. You will be accountable for documenting and reporting on learnings so that the entire organization understands what is working and why. Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the end-to-end ownership of Tin Can's email newsletter, including content strategy, calendar planning, copywriting, and send optimization.
- Evaluate and pursue partnership opportunities by researching brands and organizations that align with our values, and clearly articulate why a collaboration makes sense.
- Research and engage brand-aligned creators and influencers, managing gifting, expectations, and coordination to ensure a unified Tin Can experience.
- Drive marketing initiatives from concept to launch by building and maintaining detailed project timelines and cross-functional trackers.
- Translate consumer insights, cultural context, and cross-functional input into sharp, strategic campaign briefs that guide creative work.
- Act as the steward of Tin Can's brand guidelines, ensuring consistent application across channels, partners, and campaign materials.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams needing brand-aligned marketing materials for programs such as Tin Can Communities and retail.
- Manage and optimize performance on affiliate and creator commerce platforms, including ShopMy, by maintaining listings and analyzing performance data.
- Track, analyze, and communicate campaign performance and learnings to inform future decisions and improve marketing effectiveness over time.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to experiment with new channels, formats, and partnerships that deepen engagement with families.
- Collaborate with design and content partners to produce on-brand assets that support both external campaigns and internal enablement.
- Represent Tin Can in external conversations with potential partners, media, and influencers, clearly articulating our mission and values.
- Maintain a living view of all marketing activities and timelines to ensure nothing falls through the cracks during busy launch periods.
- Continuously test and refine newsletter subject lines, content formats, and calls to action to improve open and engagement rates.
Requirements
- Bring 4-6 years of marketing experience, ideally within a consumer brand, DTC startup, or agency serving consumer clients.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, with copy that is clear, brand-aligned, and effective across email, briefs, and outreach.
- Show creative problem-solving skills and a distinct point of view on how Tin Can shows up in the world.
- Prove experience owning or contributing to email newsletters, with a track record of understanding what drives opens and reads.
- Highlight comfort managing relationships with influencers and brand partners, and the ability to move conversations forward constructively.
- Exhibit very strong project management instincts, including the use of trackers, clear deadlines, and proactive follow-up.
- Maintain a collaborative, low-ego approach, with the ability to build trust and work effectively across functions and teams.
- Demonstrate an ownership mindset, taking initiative to identify problems, propose solutions, and see tasks through to completion.
Nice to have
- Prior experience working on or supporting an affiliate or creator commerce program, including platforms like ShopMy.
- Familiarity with tools and processes for managing brand guidelines and partner assets at scale.
