Job description
About the role
Product Manager, Acquisition & Brand
About Tin Can
Tin Can is a company dedicated to building a safer, simpler way for children to connect. The focus is on creating screen-free devices and services that enable kids to call the people who matter most. The goal is to remove the noise of the modern digital world and return to a more analog childhood. The brand identity is bold, authentic, nostalgic, and quirky. It is designed for individuals who seek something simpler and better for their children than a tech-saturated lifestyle, and who appreciate a good sense of humor about it.
The Opportunity
The company is searching for a super-creative and slightly whacky Product Manager. This individual is responsible for driving new customer acquisition and executing brand initiatives. The role demands a blend of analytical rigor and creative vision. The product exists both digitally and physically. One day might involve mapping technical systems for a new referral sharing platform. The next could be planning a physical friendship-bracelet reward program for real-world distribution. The ideal candidate possesses great taste, is bold in their approach, and can translate concepts from the screen into tangible reality. They are a dreamer who is also a doer. Collaboration with Creative, Brand, and Growth Marketing teams is frequent and essential. The role involves taking ambitious ideas and turning them into reality while balancing innovation with business constraints. The candidate must know when to push forward and when to hold back.
What You'll Do
This position owns the end-to-end referral program, making it a central pillar of the company's growth strategy. You will focus on building a kid-to-kid sharing program designed to generate excitement for Tin Can in real-world environments. This involves identifying the most effective methods to reach children outside of digital spaces. You will provide Growth Marketing with the necessary tools and systems to operate quickly and efficiently, including creating landing pages and setting up attribution models. You will support the execution of brand campaigns and experiences, guiding concepts from initial idea to final implementation. The role requires acting as a strategic partner to the Brand team, helping to shape ambitious concepts rather than merely executing them. Alignment between Creative, Growth Marketing, and Engineering is critical for defining the next steps. You will need to "get scrappy" and solve problems hands-on to bring ideas to life under tight deadlines.
Requirements
The candidate must have at least five years of product management experience. A background in growth marketing or brand initiatives is highly valued. Direct experience with quirky consumer brands is a strong plus. The ideal professional gets work done and can rally diverse groups of people. They are skilled at finding resources and keeping projects on schedule. Crystal clear communication is non-negotiable, whether discussing prank call campaigns or complex attribution pipelines. Experience working closely with designers, creatives, and supply chain teams is necessary. Excellent visual taste is required; the ability to recognize a great idea immediately is essential. A strong understanding of systems, numbers, and scaling is mandatory. Fluency with AI tools as a productivity multiplier is expected. The candidate must take full ownership of their work, including practical tasks like estimating sticker costs. A low ego and high enthusiasm are required; the candidate should celebrate the successes of others as much as their own.
Why Join Tin Can
Joining Tin Can means building technology that protects childhood. The mission is to create a more analog experience for kids, centered on real conversations and connections. The aim is to eliminate doomscrolling, data mining, and dopamine traps. This is a rare chance to build a product that has a real impact on people's lives. The role offers the opportunity to turn wild concepts into tangible experiences with significant ownership. The work environment is a small, high-trust team where members support each other both professionally and personally. New ideas and instincts are valued from the first day. The position provides the space to explore new concepts and challenge assumptions. The work reflects core values of trust, simplicity, and care. If you are ready to take a wild idea and make it something children actively beg for, the company is ready to meet you.
