Senior Site Reliability Engineer, APAC

About the role

You will define the end-to-end cloud architecture for Tilt's fastest-growing APAC markets, owning compute, networking, storage, identity, and containerisation from day one. You will lead the design and execution of critical programs such as active migrations and PCI-DSS hardening while serving as the senior technical voice for infrastructure across the region. You will run incident response during APAC hours, driving root cause analysis and implementing durable fixes in a follow-the-sun model. You will partner closely with security and compliance to enforce least-privilege access, vulnerability management, and secret management within a regulated fintech environment. You will continuously improve reliability, deploy confidence, alerting, and Azure spend to support rapid business growth. You will set the technical bar for the region through robust runbooks, clear documentation, and deep collaboration with US-based Platform engineers. You will work AI-first, leveraging coding assistants, observability tools, and IaC agents to move faster and eliminate toil.

What you'll do

• Define APAC's cloud architecture end-to-end, covering compute, networking, storage, identity, containerisation, and hosting as new PH and India environments go live from day one.
• Own cross-region connectivity, including VPN tunnels, partner IP allow-listing, edge/CDN domains, certificates, and DNS/TLS hygiene across the APAC footprint.
• Lead active migration and PCI-DSS hardening programs, coordinating sensitive data moves and ensuring compliance controls are baked into every change.
• Run incident response for APAC hours as part of the follow-the-sun on-call rotation, performing root cause analysis, leading blameless post-mortems, and delivering durable fixes.
• Continuously improve reliability, deploy confidence, alerting strategies, and Azure spend with a focus on performance, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to manage PCI-DSS scope, execute vulnerability scanning, enforce least-privilege access, and implement robust secret management.
• Set the technical bar for the region by maintaining high-quality code, detailed runbooks, and clear standards during collaboration with US-hours Platform engineers.
• Work AI-first by adopting coding assistants, observability tools, and IaC agents to accelerate delivery and reduce repetitive operational toil.
• Mentor and elevate the practices of the regional team by providing technical leadership, clear communication, and actionable feedback.
• Contribute to product and infrastructure roadmaps, ensuring that architectural decisions support long-term scalability, security, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bring deep demonstrated experience as an SRE with genuine ownership of critical production systems and a proven track record of reliability and operational rigor.
• Show deep experience managing public cloud infrastructure, with strong background on Azure and complementary experience on AWS or GCP.
• Demonstrate fluency in Terraform and IaC, building and maintaining reusable modules and environments rather than relying on one-off scripts.
• Hands-on networking expertise, including site-to-site VPN, VNet design and peering, DNS management, TLS certificates, and firewall or IP allow-listing strategies.
• Exhibit proven incident response leadership, guiding teams through complex outages and driving improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Apply scripting fluency across PowerShell, Bash, and Python, along with comfort using Azure CLI and similar tooling.
• Have experience managing the full DevOps pipeline, including build, test, deployment, monitoring, and feedback loops.
• Show AI-first instincts, instinctively reaching for AI-driven tooling to understand systems, accelerate tasks, and reduce manual effort.
• Commit to working within the constraints of a regulated fintech, understanding the importance of compliance, auditability, and security in every decision.
• Be comfortable with ambiguity and ownership in a fast-moving, global environment, making high-quality decisions without needing constant direction.
• Have the right to work in Australia and the ability to work remotely with occasional international travel twice a year for on-site visits.
• Align with Tilt's mission of expanding access to fair credit and building a more inclusive credit system that serves hardworking people worldwide.
