The Head of Credit, Brazil will own the Credit function for our expanding presence in Brazil, developing and iterating on risk models and credit policies that drive underwriting as a competitive advantage. This role will help launch innovative products that solve real customer problems while ensuring Tilt resiliently offers the right products to the right customers. You will thrive on complex challenges and leverage a diverse technical toolkit to drive impactful outcomes for our Brazilian market. This position reports directly to Tilt's Head of International Credit and requires a partner who can navigate ambiguity and deliver results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What you'll do
- Own Credit Strategy for Brazil: Develop and continuously refine credit policies for Tilt's Brazilian business, driving analysis to uncover novel insights that move our business forward.
- Collaborate on Data Science: Partner closely with the Data Science team to influence and deploy models that solve meaningful business outcomes and enhance our underwriting accuracy.
- Build Scalable Infrastructure: Develop frameworks, infrastructure, and controls to manage credit programs with high quality and resiliency, ensuring robust operational performance.
- Drive Growth with Leadership: Work with Brazil and Tilt's leadership teams to build strategy and growth plans while managing financial outcomes and optimizing portfolio performance.
- Share Cross-Market Learnings: Partner with international credit and data science teams in the Philippines, Mexico, India, and the US to identify transferable strategies and help implement them effectively in Brazil.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and finance leaders to ensure the team's work fits within the larger company picture and aligns with strategic objectives.
- Grow the
Team: Hire talented analysts and team members to staff new projects as the Brazilian business scales, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Analyze Portfolio Performance: Monitor key metrics and trends to assess credit portfolio health, identify risks, and recommend data-driven interventions.
- Lead Process Optimization: Streamline credit workflows and decisioning processes to improve efficiency, reduce friction, and enhance customer experience.
- Define Risk Frameworks: Establish risk management frameworks and governance structures to maintain compliance and support scalable growth.
- Translate Business Needs: Convert complex analytical findings into clear narratives and actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
- Mentor and Develop Analysts: Provide guidance, feedback, and career development support to build a strong, capable credit analytics team in Brazil.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Computer Science, or Mathematics - a quantitative background is a strong plus.
- 6+ years of industry experience in data analytics and credit risk management, ideally with experience in the Brazilian market.
- Proven experience leading and developing a team of analysts in a credit, risk, or data-intensive environment.
- Exceptionally strong problem-solving and communication skills - able to get deep in the weeds and present clearly to an executive audience.
- Eagerness to learn new tools and analytical methods, staying current with innovative trends and emerging products in the credit and fintech industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of regulatory considerations and compliance requirements relevant to credit products in Brazil.
- Willingness to embrace Tilt's virtual-first work model and collaborate effectively across distributed teams and time zones.
