Senior Copywriter, Brand
Job description
About the Role
The Senior Copywriter, Brand role at Tilt is designed for a writer who becomes the definitive voice of the brand. Tilt builds a new credit system that looks beyond traditional scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize potential. This position sits within the Creative team in Marketing, acting as the steward of how Tilt communicates. You will define and protect the brand language, ensuring consistency and impact across every customer touchpoint. The role requires a distinctive point of view to translate the established brand foundation into compelling, large-scale narratives.
What You'll Do
You will own the sound of Tilt, setting the standard for clarity, humanity, and brand distinction in all written communication. This involves creating brand and campaign copy that balances cleverness with warmth and plain-spoken truth. You will generate central creative concepts and execute them across channels, from headlines to scripts, ensuring campaigns feel complete and inevitable. A core responsibility is leading long-form narrative projects that build trust and emotional connection. You will also write direct response copy for performance channels, focusing on conversion through clear, everyday language. Furthermore, you will build and refine AI-assisted workflows, including prompts and style guides, to maintain brand integrity while enabling scalable production. Collaboration with designers and product partners is essential to ensure language and design move in concert. As a senior voice, you will shape creative standards and elevate the quality of work across the team.
You will be the primary steward of how Tilt sounds, sharpening our voice and setting a high bar for craft to ensure everything we write sounds clear, human, and unmistakably Tilt. You will create brand copy that is clever without being try-hard, warm without being generic, and plain-spoken without being dull, finding the phrase other writers miss and making it look easy. You will generate the big idea and know how to blow it out - from the central creative platform to the headlines, scripts, and executional details that make a campaign feel whole and inevitable. You will lead long-form narrative projects across touchpoints and campaign narratives, building trust, clarity, and emotional connection with our audience. You will write direct response copy for ads, email, and performance channels that converts without sounding like it is trying to, using plain speak and everyday language to achieve real results. You will use your craft expertise to design and refine AI-assisted copy workflows, writing prompts, style guides, and frameworks that help maintain on-brand quality while producing great work at scale. You will collaborate hand-in-hand with designers on campaign concepting and brand development to ensure writing and design move together, not in parallel. As a senior voice on a growing team, you will have real influence over how we develop creative standards, review work, and push the bar higher. You will help people feel seen, respected, and confident through clear, emotionally intelligent writing that builds trust in moments that matter.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you must possess a genuine, distinctive creative voice that is impossible to mistake. Your writing must have a quality that is hard to pin down but impossible to miss - distinctive, alive, and never overwrought. You should demonstrate strategic and conceptual thinking, capable of developing strong creative platforms and expanding them across diverse formats without dilution. Deep brand experience is essential, including the ability to capture a company's spirit in language and maintain it consistently across all touchpoints. You must be versatile in long-form narrative writing, equally confident crafting concise taglines and detailed brand stories. Performance copy fluency is required, with an understanding of direct response rhythms and clarity. A systems-thinking mindset is crucial for documenting writing frameworks and building tools, including AI-assisted processes. You should be a dedicated collaborator who thrives in feedback loops and takes critique as fuel, being as invested in the team's work as your own. You need to be a clear presenter who can walk a room through a creative rationale and make people feel the rightness of a choice, not just understand it. Finally, you need real-world experience navigating agency or in-house environments, understanding how creative work actually ships, and navigating real-world timelines, stakeholders, and constraints without compromising on quality.
Do not meet every qualification? We care about potential over your past. If you are bringing ambition and drive to what we are building, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Get at Tilt
You will work in a virtual-first team collaborating across 14 countries, 12 time zones, and counting. You will start with a WFH office reimbursement. We offer competitive pay. We are big on benefits.
