About the role
Theweitzcompany is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Superintendent to join our team in West Palm Beach, Florida. In this role, you will oversee the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for managing project schedules, coordinating with subcontractors, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a safe and productive work environment while adhering to all regulatory and company policies.

What you'll do
- Lead and supervise all phases of construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and building codes.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, identifying critical paths and ensuring timely completion of milestones.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet project requirements and timelines.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues that may arise, ensuring quality control throughout the construction process.
- Facilitate effective communication between project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams, to ensure alignment and address any concerns promptly.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site, conducting safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety among all workers.
- Resolve conflicts and challenges that may arise during the construction process, utilizing problem-solving skills to find effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and progress updates, to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Mentor and train junior staff and field personnel, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions to ensure all stakeholders are informed.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to construction practices and environmental standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing commercial or residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations, with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with a solid understanding of scheduling and budgeting practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly to various stakeholders.
Nice to have
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations specific to Florida.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are a plus.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of the project are meticulously managed.

- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
