About the role
The Weitz Company is seeking a highly skilled Senior MEP Project Superintendent to join our dynamic team in Muskogee, Oklahoma. This pivotal role involves overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for various construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management and a strong understanding of MEP systems, as well as the ability to lead teams effectively and communicate with various stakeholders.

What you'll do
- Lead and manage the MEP aspects of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
- Supervise MEP subcontractors and ensure that all work is performed in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work, addressing any issues promptly to maintain project momentum.
- Review and approve MEP shop drawings, submittals, and change orders, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Coordinate with local authorities and utility companies to secure necessary permits and inspections for MEP installations.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, fostering a culture of safety and quality on site.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates for stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets and financials related to MEP systems, tracking expenses and forecasting future costs.
- Mentor and train junior staff and subcontractors, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all team members.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP project management or supervision within the construction industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects with MEP components.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as relevant codes and standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its application in MEP design and coordination.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a general contracting firm.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations specific to Oklahoma.
