What you'll do
- Lead and manage electrical construction projects, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, codes, and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop project schedules and budgets, monitoring progress throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess project status, quality of work, and adherence to safety protocols, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project execution, ensuring timely delivery to maintain project schedules.
- Supervise and mentor electrical teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement among all team members.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and progress updates for stakeholders.
- Interface with clients and stakeholders to communicate project status, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with project outcomes.
- Implement best practices in electrical installation and construction techniques, staying current with industry trends and innovations.
- Manage subcontractor performance, ensuring that all work is completed to specifications and within budget constraints.
- Assist in the development of project proposals and bids, providing technical input and cost estimates as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to electrical work and construction practices.
- Participate in project meetings, providing updates and insights on electrical work and collaborating on problem-solving strategies.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical construction or project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising electrical teams and subcontractors.
- Proficient in project management software and tools, with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- A valid electrical license or certification is preferred, along with relevant safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA).
Nice to have
- Experience with renewable energy projects or sustainable building practices.
- Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other advanced construction technologies.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a large-scale construction firm.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of electrical design software and tools is a plus.
