About the role

You own the technical vision and strategic delivery of complex enterprise modernization programs as the first dedicated Solution Architect within the AI Modernisation practice. You translate ambiguous business challenges into robust, scalable technical strategies that de-risk legacy transformations and accelerate time-to-value. You act as the trusted technical partner to sales, guiding C-level stakeholders through the intricacies of legacy refactoring and AI-assisted delivery. You define the architectural guardrails and estimation frameworks that ensure consistent, high-quality execution across engagements. You evangelize pragmatic patterns for legacy strangulation, cloud-native adoption, and AI coding tool integration. You build the bridge between cutting-edge AI capabilities and the stringent realities of enterprise constraints. You are instrumental in shaping the future playbook for AI-driven software transformation at scale.

What you'll do

Architect and define end-to-end technical strategies for legacy system modernization programs, ensuring alignment with both business objectives and technical constraints.

Qualify inbound technical leads by rigorously assessing code volume, dependency complexity, compliance requirements, and the client's current AI maturity level.

Establish deep technical trust with C-level executives, CTOs, and architects by demonstrating assertive expertise and confident, clear communication.

Identify and document critical client preferences regarding security posture, performance targets, target technology stack, and constraints imposed by existing legacy systems.

Design pragmatic, incremental migration trajectories utilizing patterns such as the strangler fig to minimize risk and ensure continuous delivery of business value.

Select and integrate appropriate AI coding and development tools to accelerate code understanding, refactoring, and transpilation efforts throughout the migration lifecycle.

Produce high-impact technical deliverables, including architecture diagrams, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and validated proof-of-concept demos for stakeholder review.

Conduct forward-looking technological surveillance on modernization patterns, large language models, and emerging AI coding tools to maintain a competitive edge.

Develop precise technical estimates that account for complexity, risk zones, and budget limitations, providing transparent and defendable projections.

Champion the commercial proposition by articulating the cost of inaction, the critical path of time-to-market, and the security implications for the client's business continuity.

Collaborate closely with sales leadership to translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives that win strategic enterprise deals.

Define and refine the delivery staffing model, identifying the precise skills and team composition required to execute the planned solution successfully.

Own the technical handover and knowledge transfer process, ensuring smooth transitions to delivery teams and establishing a robust foundation for long-term support.

Provide hands-on technical guidance during project kickoff, resolving intricate challenges and overseeing the implementation of modernization roadmaps.

Act as a technical ambassador for the practice, contributing to the development of methodologies, standards, and best practices that elevate the entire AI Modernisation organization.

Requirements

You possess a strong background in software architecture with demonstrable experience designing and modernizing complex software systems at scale.

You have a proven track record of working with enterprise-level technology stacks and legacy monolithic applications, understanding the challenges of migration and integration.

You hold a deep expertise in at least one modern programming language and framework ecosystem, enabling you to evaluate technical feasibility and guide implementation details.

You are comfortable navigating highly regulated environments and understand the implications of data compliance, security standards, and governance in architectural decisions.

You have experience engaging with senior technical stakeholders, including Chief Technology Officers, Chief Information Officers, and Solution Architects, influencing decisions through technical merit.

You exhibit a strong entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and driven by the ability to define solutions where the path is not yet clear.

You are passionate about leveraging artificial intelligence to transform software development processes and possess a keen interest in AI coding tools and their practical application.

You communicate with precision and clarity, able to distill complex technical concepts into actionable insights for diverse audiences, from engineers to executive leadership.

Nice to have

Experience with AI coding platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar large language model-driven development tools.

A background in industries with high regulatory constraints, such as finance, healthcare, or public sector.

Practical notes

This position is based in Paris.

This is a full-time permanent contract (CDI).

Travel may be required to visit client sites as needed.
