Lead SRE / DevOps - CDI Paris
Job description
About the role
At Theodo, we believe that sustainable innovation starts with people. Since 2009, our group has partnered with forward-thinking enterprises to design, build, and deploy intelligent digital products - such as TF1+, LCL Pro, and France Identité Numérique - by combining cutting-edge technology with a disciplined Lean approach. Over 15 years, Theodo has grown into a group of more than 850 passionate Software Engineers, generating €100M in revenue in 2025. Within Theodo Cloud, our dedicated DevSecOps practice, we help scale-ups and large enterprises turn infrastructure and cybersecurity challenges into competitive advantages. We specialize in building scalable, resilient, and secure cloud foundations that accelerate delivery instead of slowing it down. As a pioneer of containerization, we place innovation at the core of our cloud strategy, tackling critical issues in regulated industries and AI-driven optimization every day.
The technical team within Theodo Cloud is split into two complementary pôles: the Build pole focuses on creating, migrating, and optimizing infrastructures, while the Run pole is responsible for the continuous operation and management of client infrastructures. As a Lead SRE/DevOps, you will be entrusted with leading one of these teams and working hand-in-hand with an Agile Project Manager to ensure that technical decisions translate into measurable business impact. You will report to an Engineering Manager who will support your professional growth. At the end of the recruitment process, we will jointly determine whether your strengths are best aligned with the Build or Run pole.
What you'll do
As Lead SRE/DevOps, you will own the technical strategy and day-to-day delivery of infrastructure and platform initiatives for clients operating in highly regulated sectors. You will guide a team of SRE and DevOps engineers, transforming business constraints into robust, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures. You will serve as the primary technical authority for complex infrastructure projects, guaranteeing high availability, scalability, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include defining long-term infrastructure and SRE practices aligned with client objectives, designing architectures that meet strict compliance requirements, and ensuring that every deliverable meets rigorous quality and performance standards.
You will remain deeply involved in implementation, acting as a hands-on contributor while promoting best practices and efficient workflows across the squad. Cost optimization will be a core theme of your work, requiring you to apply design-to-cost principles and drive ongoing cost reductions without compromising reliability. You will mentor junior engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and on-the-job training, while also analyzing incidents and defects to extract actionable learnings and strengthen team expertise. In addition, you will champion automation, enhance developer experience, and promote security best practices across the platform landscape, constantly evaluating new tools and technologies to keep the stack modern and aligned with industry standards. Collaboration with Agile Project Managers will be essential to balance scope, timelines, and technical feasibility, especially when supporting cloud migration and modernization initiatives. Ultimately, you will foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous learning within your squad and across Theodo Cloud.
Requirements
The profile we seek reflects a seasoned practitioner with deep operational and architectural expertise. You must bring at least 3 years of professional experience in SRE or DevOps roles, working with modern technology stacks that include container orchestration, infrastructure as code, and public cloud providers. You should have a proven track record of designing, deploying, and operating reliable, secure, and scalable systems that support demanding business needs. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact frequently with SRE and DevOps colleagues, developers, project managers, and clients from regulated industries. You must be decisive when it comes to technical choices and able to clearly justify those decisions to diverse audiences.
A genuine passion for automation, monitoring, observability, and infrastructure resilience will be at the core of your professional ethos. Experience working under regulatory constraints or in highly controlled environments is a significant advantage, as is a background in sectors where uptime, security, and compliance are critical. Familiarity with Large Language Model platforms and techniques to optimize cost and performance for AI workloads is considered a "nice to have." You should also be comfortable mentoring others, sharing knowledge through reviews and pair programming, and delivering constructive feedback that helps peers grow. Theodo is an equal opportunity employer, and we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who share our values and demonstrate strong collaborative skills.
