Position Overview
This position is responsible for communicating the corporate vision and strategy within the designated territory. The role focuses on recruiting and developing talent to achieve sales and marketing objectives. The manager will provide leadership across all operational functions and maintain a professional market presence. Success in this role requires ownership of the Orlando territory and the ability to transform complex operations into actionable plans for multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to develop an annual forecast and a comprehensive business plan for the region. Accountability for the financial health of all branch operations within the territory is required. Collaboration with corporate managers is necessary to oversee branches, including Sales and Marketing, Warehouse, Collections, Purchasing, and Administration. The role involves developing relationships with personnel, key customers, and vendors.
The manager will be responsible for recruitment, selection, and hiring for all regional positions. Actively coaching and mentoring employees to achieve excellence and promotability is essential. Oversight of employee training, performance reviews, coaching, and termination processes falls within this role. It is necessary to remain informed about competitors and market changes specific to the territory. Enthusiastic support and implementation of company policies and philosophies are required.
The manager must function as a team builder, setting goals and motivating employees toward high performance. Creating a supportive work environment that empowers employees to make informed decisions is a priority. Holding employees accountable for their actions is mandatory. Ensuring personnel remain engaged in productive activities aligned with business objectives at all times is essential. The prudent use of entertainment as a tool for building relationships is required. Regular communication of the company vision and direction, while emphasizing employee value and opportunity, is necessary. Maintaining a positive atmosphere and high morale within the region is expected. All other duties assigned by the Director of Sales-East and/or the Vice President of Sales & Marketing will be performed.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess three to five years of proven field sales leadership. A four-year college degree or equivalent professional experience is required. Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems, such as Mincron, is necessary. A highly organized and disciplined approach to time management is essential. The ability to analyze regional business potential and economic conditions is required. Over five years of supervisory experience should be evident in decision quality.
A personable demeanor and professional appearance must be maintained at all times. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to convey direction to diverse audiences. Detail orientation combined with consistent follow-up skills is mandatory. The ability to quickly identify talent and place individuals in appropriate roles is essential. Prior experience in sales training and coaching is required. Broad product knowledge and market insight support effective selling decisions. A valid driver's license is required, with the ability to travel within the region, including occasional overnight travel.
