About the role
You will configure and enhance Workday's Core HCM module to ensure our processes are scalable, consistent, and easy to navigate as we grow. You will partner with stakeholders across People Operations, Payroll, and business teams to translate evolving needs into thoughtful system designs that improve workflows and automation. You will strengthen document generation, validation logic, and reporting structures to reduce manual work and prevent downstream errors in the system. You will provide responsive and empathetic guidance to SumUppers using Workday, helping them feel confident and supported in their daily HR processes. You will build and maintain reliable reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and supporting informed decision-making for leadership. You will contribute to clear documentation, structured change management, and sustainable configuration standards that stand the test of time. Rather than only maintaining the system, you will help shape how our employee lifecycle processes are designed and continuously improved. In doing so, you will ensure Workday supports both operational excellence and a seamless experience for every SumUpper.

Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and optimize configuration approaches to improve long-term maintainability.
Support the continuous improvement of the Workday HCM environment through proactive problem-solving and thoughtful system enhancements.
Champion data accuracy and integrity across configurations, ensuring outputs are trustworthy and reliable for decision-makers.
Promote best practices in configuration and design to create a stable and future-ready Workday environment for SumUp's growth.
Act as a key liaison between technical configuration teams and non-technical stakeholders to bridge understanding and drive alignment.
Explore ways to maximize the potential of Workday Core HCM features in line with SumUp's long-term strategic goals.
Support the adoption of new functionality by guiding users through changes and highlighting the benefits of improved processes.
Requirements
Hands-on experience with Workday HCM Core, with additional exposure to modules such as Time Tracking or Compensation viewed as a plus.
Solid understanding of Workday fundamentals including Staffing, Worker Data, Organizations, Business Processes, and Reporting.
Confidence working with structured datasets to validate configuration changes and ensure reliable outputs across systems.
Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills with a keen attention to data accuracy and integrity in all configurations.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and translate business needs into scalable system solutions for diverse stakeholders.
A mindset that consistently looks for simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement in system configuration and processes.
Advanced English communication skills required for clear collaboration across global teams.
Intermediate Portuguese skills necessary to effectively engage with local stakeholders and support regional needs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, growing fintech environment.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of documentation, governance, and change management in system configuration.
