You will own the end-to-end lifecycle strategy for enterprise clients using the Subsets platform, translating business goals into executable marketing workflows. You will act as the primary growth partner for your client portfolio, driving adoption and demonstrating tangible business impact. This role requires you to expand product usage while defining and communicating what outstanding customer outcomes look like as the company scales. You will build and optimize complex subscriber journeys, ensuring each campaign aligns with retention and expansion objectives. You will collaborate directly with solutions engineers to resolve technical issues so you can maintain strategic focus on growth initiatives. The position is designed for individuals who thrive in ambiguous environments and are accountable for high-impact results with minimal oversight. You will shape the playbook for the customer team model, setting standards and processes that influence how the organization scales its success.

What you'll do
- Execute hands-on campaign management within the Subsets platform, building, optimizing, and iterating on lifecycle campaigns and subscriber journeys for active clients.
- Define and document standard operating procedures for the customer team model, establishing the playbook for how Lifecycle Marketing Strategists operate and scale.
- Manage a portfolio of 5-10 enterprise customers, serving as the main point of contact for adoption metrics, business outcomes, and overall client satisfaction.
- Conduct deep business discovery for each client, uncovering growth opportunities and resolving potential challenges before they escalate into larger issues.
- Coordinate closely with a solutions engineer to handle technical escalations and integrations, allowing you to remain focused on strategic growth initiatives and client outcomes.
- Operate within a lean, high-performing team structure where your contributions have immediate and significant impact on company success.
- Assume broad responsibility for client health and revenue expansion, owning the narrative of value realization throughout the customer journey.
- Analyze campaign metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, using data to refine future lifecycle strategies.
- Develop proactive outreach plans that anticipate client needs and position Subsets as a strategic partner in their growth trajectory.
- Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions, decisions, and outcomes to ensure continuity and enable scalable processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and sales teams to provide feedback from the field that influences roadmap decisions.
- Champion the adoption of new platform features by integrating them into existing client workflows and demonstrating their value.
- Build and test hypotheses through experimentation, using basic experimental design to improve campaign effectiveness over time.
- Act as an ambassador for the company culture, embodying the proactive, action-oriented mindset expected at Subsets.
Requirements
- You possess hands-on experience in CRM or customer/retention marketing, building journeys, campaigns, and lifecycle strategies inside a platform like Sailthru, Braze, Iterable, or other similar tools.
- You have direct experience being client-facing, such as agency or consulting roles, and ideally you have managed relationships at multiple levels within organizations.
- You demonstrate proficiency in email marketing and have experience with additional marketing channels such as app, on-site, or paid social.
- You have a track record of analyzing campaign performance and understand the fundamentals of running experiments and what good experimental design looks like.
- You have worked with subscription businesses and are familiar with key metrics and terms like ARPU and Lifetime Value.
- You exhibit a proactive, big-picture mindset, consistently thinking several steps ahead about where a client relationship is heading.
- You show a strong bias toward action, thriving in fast-paced, loosely defined environments where autonomy is essential.
- You prefer a primarily in-office way of working and you are energized by the pace and intensity of early-stage startups.
