What you'll do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technology needs and develop tailored solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security of systems and networks.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Develop and document IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular system audits and assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary security measures.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations to enhance our IT capabilities.
• Manage IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
• Facilitate training sessions for staff on new technologies and systems, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and manage relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Analyze data and generate reports to inform decision-making and support strategic planning initiatives.
• Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard critical IT assets.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering open communication and teamwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Proficiency in network management, server administration, and cybersecurity principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms and virtualization technologies.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ are advantageous.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
• Knowledge of database management systems and data analytics tools.
• Previous experience in a mission-driven or nonprofit organization is a plus.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack).
• Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Jira, Trello) to track progress and manage tasks.
• Knowledge of security tools and practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
