About the role
This role focuses on driving project execution within the People Operations and Insights team. You will manage initiatives from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with broader People team goals and supporting the company's growth. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic projects, taking responsibility for defining the scope, objectives, and success metrics from the outset. You will act as a central hub for coordination, synthesizing inputs from various stakeholders into a coherent plan that keeps work moving forward efficiently. You will be expected to manage complex situations and deliver outcomes with both speed and careful consideration, balancing urgency with quality. You will cultivate a collaborative and improvement-focused environment within the People team, fostering a culture where projects are not just completed but optimized for learning and impact. You will serve as a key partner to departments like Legal, Finance, and Engineering, helping to improve processes and remove blockers that could hinder progress. Ultimately, this position is about ensuring that the initiatives driven by the People team are executed with precision, transparency, and alignment with Stripe's broader mission.

What you'll do
- Lead projects independently, defining problems and developing solutions that address People team priorities.
- Create and execute project plans, streamlining processes and keeping stakeholders informed through clear status updates.
- Track project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to ensure successful delivery on schedule and within scope.
- Partner with departments like Legal, Finance, and Engineering to improve processes and align on shared objectives.
- Establish project governance to ensure adherence to standards and best practices across the People organization.
- Prepare and present project updates to leadership and other stakeholders, highlighting outcomes, trade-offs, and next steps.
- Cultivate a collaborative and improvement-focused environment within the People team, encouraging feedback and continuous refinement.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that require coordination among HR, Finance, Legal, Product, Tech, and Leadership teams.
- Use data and insights to guide decision-making, ensuring project goals are measurable and aligned with People Operations strategy.
- Own the documentation and communication of project outcomes, creating reusable frameworks and templates for future efforts.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced setting, prioritizing work to meet deadlines and maintain quality.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose solutions that enhance efficiency and scalability for the People team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years in project management, business operations, strategy, or consulting, with at least 2 years specifically within an HR function.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex situations and achieve outcomes with both speed and careful consideration.
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams including HR, Finance, Legal, Product, Tech, and Leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, using data to guide decisions and measure project success.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal, for diverse audiences across the organization and at various levels.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Asana, Jira, or Airtable, and methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Proven ability to build trust and achieve consensus across different teams, even in ambiguous or rapidly changing situations.
- Capacity to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, managing multiple projects concurrently without sacrificing detail or accuracy.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of governance, ensuring that projects follow established processes and best practices.
- Willingness to take ownership of ambiguous problems and drive them to resolution with structured thinking and creativity.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
Nice to have
- Experience with change management methodologies, such as Prosci ADKAR.
- Background in creating and distributing training and enablement resources.
- Familiarity with HR systems including HCM, ATS, or LMS.
- Experience using AI tools to enhance productivity in project workflows and reporting.
- Advanced skills in Mac OS and Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, and Slides.
