Senior Technical Program Manager II, Security

About the role

This role owns the end-to-end delivery of high-impact security programs that protect our athletes and platform. You will partner deeply with Engineering, Infrastructure Product, Legal, Operations, and GRC teams to drive complex initiatives from initial proposal through production launch and ongoing optimization. You will serve as the central program owner for security efforts, ensuring clear communication, structured execution, and consistent risk mitigation across the organization. You will translate security requirements into actionable plans that align with product and engineering strategies while maintaining strict compliance standards. You will thrive in a fast-paced, sophisticated environment where your work directly influences the security posture of a global community. Your role will provide dedicated program management support to ensure security initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with full transparency.

What you'll do

Drive end-to-end delivery of multi-quarter security initiatives such as IAM upgrades, vulnerability-management improvements, compliance readiness efforts, and security architecture changes from proposal through launch, operational rollout, and post-launch optimization.

Coordinate execution across Engineering, IT, Product, Legal, and GRC, serving as the central point of alignment across time zones to remove ambiguity, streamline decision-making, and maintain forward momentum.

Own program communications, producing clear status updates, designing and pulling key metrics, executive briefings, risk logs, and decision records to ensure stakeholders at all levels have timely, actionable visibility.

Identify and mitigate risks early by conducting structured dependency, resourcing, and requirements assessments; evaluate whether technical implementation plans meet security, compliance, and business objectives.

Serve as the escalation channel for delivery risks, blockers, and cross-team conflicts, ensuring issues are triaged and resolved rapidly with clear ownership and follow-through.

Implement and maintain tooling workflows in Jira, Confluence, Airtable, and related platforms to support roadmap tracking, milestone management, capacity planning, and documentation quality.

Define program scope, success metrics, and milestone plans that directly support broader product, engineering, and security strategies while adhering to established governance frameworks.

Translate technical security concepts into clear narratives for non-technical stakeholders, driving aligned decisions and fostering a shared system-level understanding across the organization.

Conduct regular dependency and gap analyses to surface potential roadblocks, then collaborate with engineering and security teams to implement timely, scalable solutions.

Champion security best practices across the software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with frameworks such as PCI-DSS and NIST CSF through measurable compliance outcomes.

Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners, guiding diverse stakeholders including engineering, product design, legal, IT, and operations toward shared outcomes.

Apply structured problem-solving to ambiguous or evolving problem spaces, bringing creativity, energy, and a proactive mindset to emerging security challenges.

Maintain rigorous documentation and decision records that provide ongoing clarity and context for current and future program activities.

Continuously optimize program processes and tooling to improve efficiency, transparency, and the overall health of security initiatives at scale.

Requirements

6-8 years of program management experience delivering complex software and security programs in an engineering-driven organization.

Demonstrated success executing initiatives involving security controls, risk reduction, and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, NIST CSF).

Experience defining program scope, success metrics, and milestone plans that directly support broader product, engineering, and security strategies.

Proven ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving aligned decisions and clear system-level understanding.

A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, including planning, prioritization, dependency management, and release coordination.

A track record of fostering collaboration, guiding diverse stakeholders (engineering, product design, legal, IT, operations) toward shared outcomes.
